THANK YOU

Thank you all for your prayers and healing thoughts toward my precious daughter.  She developed a weakening of the heart from the hormones during her pregnancy, a rare condition. On Saturday, she passed out and was taken by ambulance to the hospital.  She had been sedated and her heart strengthened through IV drip medications. She came out of the sedation late today and asked a million questions about what had happened to her.  We explained everything and because of the sedative that was still in her, she promptly forgot and asked again … and again … and again, all day and evening the same questions.  And we never got tired of hearing the questions and answering her.  It made me think what a lovely world this would be if we could be that loving and patient with everyone in our lives without needing to be in a crisis situation. I will think about that whenever anyone tries my patience.  I am so grateful for the love and the healing energy and all the beautiful words and thoughts.  I will cherish them as we go and grow through the process of getting Kristen healthy and strong again.

May you walk in peace today knowing you are blessed and a blessing in the world.

Peace and Love, Sharie

IN GRATITUDE AND GRACE

Dearest Sisters and Brothers,

My beautiful 33 year old daughter, Kristen, is in intensive care and needing my constant attention so I will not be posting for a while.  She is the mother of 3 year old Emma and 10 week old Kora and the wife of Matthew.  Many miracles of love and generosity and kindness are coming from this  experience and we are trying to focus on those.  I would be very grateful for any prayers and healing thoughts sent to Kristen at this time. We trust in a loving God that Kristen will recover quickly and be home with her family soon.  We are placing our trust in the strength of God knowing that His laws are more powerful than bodies and miracles of healing can happen in an instant. Thank You.  I hope to be back very, very soon. Love and Peace,  Sharie

WARNING! WATCH OUT FOR MIRACLES

Let this be a day of miracles for you. Miracles are tiny instants where love sends shoots of energy from one heart to another. A miracle is when you have to smile even when you can’t see anything to smile about. A miracle is when instead of running to get out of the rain, you have this powerful desire to dance and splash and laugh with joy. A miracle is when you are pulling weeds in your garden and you have this quiet sense of being one with the garden, one with each flower and one even with the weeds. A miracle is when you are in a group of strangers and suddenly your heart is filled with such love it takes your breath away and every stranger is a friend. A miracle is when you feel the presence of something greater than yourself and you know somehow that in spite of how things look in this crazy world, everything will be all right.

A miracle is a laughing baby.
A miracle is a quiet smile from a loved one.
A miracle is a thank you card.
A miracle is a surprise party just for you.
A miracle is the warmth of a hand holding yours.
A miracle is a cup of coffee with a friend.
A miracle is a sleeping child on your lap.
A miracle is a simple act of random kindness.
A miracle is laughing out loud.
A miracle is sharing tears with a friend.
A miracle is the sound of music, the sight of shimmering stars in a black sky, the scent of lilacs, the feel of freshly washed sheets, the creamy taste of hot chocolate on a snowy day.

A miracle is anything that comes from love and engenders love. We are so busy that we overlook them. Or we get distracted by the noisy sound of dire warnings from the egos. Miracles are quiet. They flow in loving stillness through our day without attracting too much attention. We need to be quiet and watchful to catch sight of them. We need to hear about them on the daily news. They can’t be forced or controlled. They can only be allowed to be. Miracles heal without even trying. Miracles are the true nature of our being.

Be open to them. Be grateful for them. And remember YOU ARE ONE.

May you walk in peace today knowing you are blessed and a blessing in the world.

HEALING OUR RELATIONSHIPS

Basing our happiness, upon the expectations of certain behavior from someone else is the greatest cause of our relationship problems. Many advanced spiritual teachers speak of this very eloquently. It’s what I call the “I love you, but only if you treat me right” syndrome. And of course, the “right treatment” is based upon our expectations. The moment we lay our happiness, our peace of mind and well being upon the shoulders of another, making them responsible for our feelings, our hopes and dreams fulfilled, we are building our life here upon a very shaky foundation. Everyone has lessons here and fears to overcome and so no one can give us what we want or need for true happiness, true healing or true peace of mind.

Let’s take a moment and look at a relationship in our life that is very important; one that causes us our greatest joy and our deepest pain. Let’s ask ourselves a few questions about this relationship:
1. Can I see that I am strong and confident with or without the presence of this person in my life? 2. Do I understand that I am complete, whole and fulfilled as I am? 3. Can I see even a glimmer of light in the thought that no one can take my peace from me unless I give it to them? 4. Do I get it that what someone else does or says about me is more a reflection of them than of me? And the most important question of all, 5. Can I bless this person and love him/her no matter what they do or say understanding that the more fear-filled they are, the more they need my love?

If these questions make us uncomfortable or raise fear or panic within us, we shouldn’t be surprised or upset. In fact we should be grateful. What makes us uncomfortable or fearful is simply the barometer that shows us where we need healing. Now, we are able to stand back, look at and surrender our fear to God and allow healing to happen. We must be patient with ourselves for we are still learning to grow into our own truth. Remember, we have lived in fear for a very long time. Living in the light of our own Loving presence is a new idea for most of us and one we will learn to trust in more and more as we exercise our forgiving muscle over time and turn more and more to God instead of other egos for our peace, our strength, our joy.

The next important step in our healing is to trust in the fact that all of our relationships can be healed and Holy whether that person/persons is in our life right now or not. We do not need to speak certain words, write a letter or even hug or spend time with someone in order to heal our relationship with them. We can do these things if we feel lovingly guided to, but it isn’t necessary. And because there is no death in spirit, they need not even be here in the world for healing to happen. Healing happens when we choose to be at peace. Healing happens when we are ready to let go of past hurts and to forgive and surrender everything about someone that has disturbed our peace. Healing happens when we decide that guilt and suffering in a relationship no longer serves a purpose for us. What the other person experiences from our blessing, our surrender and our forgiveness belongs to God. Our responsibility lies only in our own choices and in our own healing not in someone else’s. The other person or persons can choose healing for themselves when they are ready and if they aren’t ready the only thing we can do is to hold their truth and their light in our minds for them. After all, this is what God does for us. He doesn’t force us to heal, He simply holds our perfection in His Mind for us until we are ready to see it for ourselves.

May you walk in peace today knowing you are blessed and a blessing in the world.

TRUST IS A MUSCLE

Trust is a muscle that needs to be exercised in us all. Trust is taking the leap of faith from fear into Love.  We ask too many questions and listen for too few answers. We must trust in the stillness that brings us answers with no need for questions; the stillness that we block out with our busy, mindless ego thinking.

Trust that the challenges in your life are only lessons to be learned and no matter how it looks and how it feels this too shall pass and in the end only God is real, constant, unchanging, eternal, always and forever. Trust that in being grateful to God you are being an instrument for healing in the world.  And so instead of thinking of all the things that are wrong or that could go wrong, become still and pray this prayer, “Thank you, God.” And trust that He hears you.

May you walk in peace today knowing you are blessed and a blessing in the world.

LET’S BE HONEST

Some speak of honesty as being outspoken about one’s opinions and perceptions. The truth is honesty comes from the heart.  True honesty is a loving thing.  We are glorious Creations of God therefore unless we are being true to God’s Thought of us we can’t be honest.  Unless we see ourselves and our brothers and sisters through God’s eyes, we aren’t seeing clearly.  We cannot be truly honest when our vision is clouded with ego’s opinions, judgments, misperceptions and criticisms of others.  If we judge someone, we may feel we are expressing our “honest” opinion, but this is just an opinion, and has little to do with honesty which only comes from God. It is possible to have opinions and we must in order to function in the world, but it is impossible to be truly honest unless we surrender all judgments to God and let Him guide our thoughts and our actions. Honesty can only happen in surrendering and in suspending judgment.  Honesty is a joyous thing, a loving thing.  True honesty is always helpful and never hurts anyone.  True honesty is beautiful and spiritual and brings us closer.  Closer to each other and closer to God.   Understanding this will help us see that being honest is seeing ourselves and others in the light of God’s loving Vision.  And what a beautiful sight is that!

True honesty are where every thought we think, every word we speak and every action we perform are perfectly aligned and come from Love.

May you walk in peace today knowing you are blessed and a blessing in the world.

WHO AM I?

We all have a tendency to define ourselves by the roles we play in the world.  And in so doing we limit ourselves and forget our true purpose here.  You may think you’re a father, a mother, a wife, husband, partner, a family member, a career, a job, a body that walks around and says things and does things. The truth is those are the things you experience and the things you do.  You are so much more.

In the same way, we are not our fears, our guilt, our depression, our anger, our illness.  Those are limitations we have placed upon ourselves, our prison, if you will.  No child of God can be imprisoned by earthly limitations and be happy or experience peace.  Do we think we are a body and a brain?  If so, of course we are afraid of that status, because being a body and a brain makes us vulnerable and at the mercy of circumstances in the world.

But if we let go of the idea that we are what we do and what we experience, what would happen?  Confusion? For a time perhaps, but in a good way.  The only reason we would feel confused is because we feel we need parameters, we need a role to define us or then we would be nothing.  We are terrified of letting go of our roles. It might feel like leaping off a cliff.  But what if we had wings and as we took the leap, instead of falling, we flew?  The truth is if we let go of the limitations that we allow to define us, we would find we are everything.  We are not a body, we are spirit.  We are not our roles in life we are the Beloved Child of a Loving God.  We are LOVE.  We are one with each other and all the Universe.

As we release ourselves from our imprisonment of earthly limitation, we will discover an amazing thing.  We will find that our roles are no longer burdens, responsibilities or limitations.  Now they are beautiful ways for us to express our truth, our essence, our spirit and God’s Love in the world.  Now we can do what we need to do and do it all from that place of wonder and truth and light within us.  Now can we easily accomplish all we need to and more because we have surrendered everything to Love and everything we think and do comes from Love.

Repeat this to yourself:  “I am a loving spirit that is in the world, but not of the world.  I am a Being of pure light created by a loving Source that guides me in all things.  I no longer have to decide what to do or what to say, for God is now in charge of every experience for me.  And I know that whether I’m at home, at work or out in the world I really have only one purpose and that is to serve God with a loving heart because the truth is that Loving Heart is really ME.  And in being ME, I am serving God.” You are now free to experience your essence of peace and joy and grace.  You now remember that you are the Beloved Creation of a Loving God.  You always were.  You may be able to hide your truth from yourself for a time, but you cannot change it.

Whenever I get caught up in the world and my roles here I pray this prayer to bring me back to my truth; “I love.  I am loved.  I am Love.”  Use this affirmation while breathing in and out calmly and with a gentle smile on your face and feel your truth of peace and love and joy flow quietly through you.

May you walk in peace today knowing you are blessed and a blessing in the world.

EFFORTLESS COMMUNICATION

Quiet your breathing and hear from your heart the perfect, the most loving and helpful response in any situation.  We cannot be helpful unless we can be quiet. We will feel no need to attack or defend when our ego thoughts are still.  Words will flow from us as easily as a feather rides a wind current.

And when we speak we will be amazed at what you find ourselves saying. We will know from the softening of the other person’s vision and the way their jaw relaxes that we are no longer part of the problem. Somehow without knowing how we have found the right answer. In a way beyond understanding we have said the right thing. The more we practice this the easier it gets.

A technique I use is to suspend my thinking and ask God to listen to this brother or sister.  When I allow God to listen for me, I have freed myself from judgment and attachment. I don’t speak unless I feel a loving nudge or clear guidance. I may be led to simply listen quietly. When I am called to speak it is clear to me that the words are coming through me not from me.  In this way I become a teacher, an instrument of God’s peace and I am, at that moment, fulfilling my function and my purpose in the world.  There is no effort on my part.  It is as though a loving presence has taken my hand and is gently leading me along a path of light, a path of knowing love and clear understanding of what is needed here in this moment. And every single time it all works out perfectly.

May you walk in peace today knowing you are blessed and a blessing in the world.

GUILT BEGONE!

“Let me be done with guilt. There is a song to sing. There is life to live and people to enjoy.” Hugh Prather

The least helpful or productive emotion on earth is guilt. Guilt is silent and insidious and keeps us mired in muddy moments of useless quicksand. It can be flagrant or subtle. It can knock us flat or be an annoying background noise in our daily lives. We even feel guilty about things like eating chocolate or taking a nap! We talk about the guilty secret or the guilty pleasure. We take guilt into ourselves and we wish it on others. Many believe that guilt serves a purpose in that it keeps people from doing bad things. It isn’t guilt that keeps us from doing bad things, it’s Love, Forgiveness and Kindness.

If you make a mistake, don’t trap yourself in that mistaken place with feelings of guilt. Instead look at the mistake, take responsibility for it and then learn from it and grow past it as quickly as you can. If you need to apologize to someone do so, not with guilt in your heart, but with the desire for a peace-filled and loving correction of an error. We cannot learn and grow when we are mired in guilt. Everything is an opportunity for spiritual learning and in that sense every mistake serves a purpose.

On the opposite end, if someone does or says something that we feel is an attack upon us or someone we love, wishing guilt upon them only keeps us all trapped in a dark place of anger and vengeance and revenge. What purpose does that serve? Entire wars are caused by the need to avenge. Families are torn apart sometimes for a lifetime. How many times have we heard she/he shows no remorse. Remorse is guilt and is not our business to command. That would be another unnecessary burden we place upon ourselves. We are not responsible for the lessons and choices of others, only our own. How can we possibly be free when we have imprisoned ourselves with our attacker in the useless quicksand of guilt? Our lesson is forgiveness which is not condoning, but releasing attachment. We need this for our own peace of mind. Forgiveness best happens when we ask for help in seeing this situation and this person through the loving eyes of God. Then are we able to surrender all thoughts of the “guilty” party to God.

A Course In Miracles teaches there are only extensions of love and calls for love. We extend love when, instead of seeing guilt in another, we see their wounded spirit and their need for love. If they felt love they would have no need to attack. The same applies to us. If we silently bless them and ourselves instead of judging, we free ourselves to fly to new and glorious heights of joy and inner peace. As we bless another so do we bless ourselves. Guilt blocks the blessing and keeps us from our joy and happiness just as fog hides the sun.

So go forth today with this thought: GUILT BEGONE! And release your spirit to a new and lovely healing experience.

May you walk in peace today knowing you are blessed and a blessing in the world.

HELP ME!

Say someone ordered you to travel 1,000 miles to a certain point with no directions, no map, no GPS, no compass, nothing but the words – Go There!  That’s what we all do to ourselves when we try to find happiness and peace without help.  It can’t be done.  And so we frantically look for it in things, in jobs, in money, in relationships, in power.  We are directionless when it comes to our own spiritual healing. Many don’t even believe in the spirit self. Or anything beyond this world of form. And even though we all possess an inner GPS, even those who are dimly aware of it don’t always know how to access it. This focus on form, this feeling lost and confused while frantically seeking for answers in all the wrong places is one of the major causes of the chaos, and the violence and hatred in the world.  This is because a common remedy for alleviating fear is to project it upon others and the world at large. And this negative energy affects our planet, our children, all of our experiences. On our 1,000 mile trip our only choice would be to stop somewhere and ask for directions.

And so it is in our search for peace. The most powerful prayer in the Universe is “HELP ME!”  These two words when sincerely meant open the flood gate to a whole new way of thinking.  Suddenly books are available, spiritual teachers come into our line of vision, television offers programs, opportunities for learning fall at our feet and our inner GPS to peace becomes a part our awareness.

When you feel unhappy or poor or obsessed about something or someone; when you feel sick in body or spirit, or fearful or depressed or sad, angry or anxious, don’t be afraid to cry out, “HELP ME!” The Universe will do a welcoming dance of joy and extend its hand to lift you up and gently guide you on your path to peace.  And when you stumble from your path (and we all do), pray again, Help Me! and feel yourself lovingly guided back onto your path once more.

May you walk in peace today knowng you are blessed and a blessing in the world.

APPLAUD THE DANCE

You must be free to be you and let others be who they are as well.  You must tell your own story and paint your own picture.  We all learn in our own ways and at our own pace.  Don’t be afraid to dance to your own beat and sing your own song.  And accept, appreciate and applaud the dance, the song, the story and the artwork of others even when it’s different from your own.  True joy, true friendship and true peace come from acceptance and from joyful praise of one another.  We can teach and learn much more effectively when we do it with an attitude of positive support. Count not your brothers and sisters mistakes, but instead value them for all they do right.  And give this gift to yourself as well.

HEAVEN ON EARTH

“To forgive, we are not required to say or do anything.  It is an inner gesture of quiet sincerity.” Hugh Prather

To forgive is not to condone.  To forgive is to surrender.  And so together let’s surrender everything, but the joy and love and peace in us. Let’s surrender everything we do not want and keep only what we do want which is the light and the laughter and the quiet, calm spirit that lives inside us in a place where we forget to look.

This place I speak of is not governed by the laws of time or space or egos.  It is governed by the laws of a Loving God.  In this place lives timelessness and limitless abundance.  If we live our lives within this place in our spirit minds and hearts nothing is complicated, nothing is stressful, nothing is difficult. In this place, all is well, always.  And it is here and it is now.  We can’t lose it like we lose our keys.  We can’t lose it like we lose our minds.  We can’t forget it like we forget appointments. We can’t yearn for it like we yearn for happiness or things.  We have no needs here for here in this place of timeless abundance all our needs are met without our even asking.  In this place of timeless abundance all our problems have been solved.

In this place is our reality.  There are no nightmares here.  There is no violence here. There is no sickness here.  Death does not visit this place, because it is timeless and eternal. It does not begin and it does not end.  It simply is. We think this place is a fantasy, but the truth is this place is real and the world we think is real is the fantasy.  Most people don’t understand, but our thinking here is upside down.  What we think is so serious really isn’t. So be relieved.  Be grateful.  Laugh with joy at the knowing that there is something so much better than our small thinking ever allows us to see.

Laugh joyously at fear and let this Loving place be recognized as your true home.  You’ve heard of hell on earth?  Right this moment surrender hell on earth. And place your trust in your real home. The Angels call it Heaven on Earth and it’s here, it’s now, it’s real.  All we need do to experience it is to simply choose it.  And as we choose it so are we now instruments of peace.  So are we now instrumental in healing the world and bringing a peace filled consciousness to light.

Whenever you feel challenged or disturbed by anything, choose again. “I want the peace of God instead of this.”  ACIM.  Practice this faithfully.  Believe in its possibility.  Be willing to be happy and in time you will find your real home in timelessness.  You will still be in the world as you are now, only your life will be filled with joy instead of fear, light instead of darkness, health instead of sickness, abundance instead of scarcity, love instead of hate.  The truth is what it is.  Our job is to simply be willing to believe that there is something better. Our little willingness is all God asks of us. Then He will do the rest.

May you walk in peace today knowing you are blessed and a blessing in the world.

WHAT’S RIGHT?

“We would be much happier if we tried to stay in touch with the healthy joyful seeds inside of us and around us.  We should learn to ask, “What’s not wrong?” and be in touch with that.” Thich Nhat Hanh

Pay attention to how often you join with others in what’s wrong.  “What’s wrong?” is a question we ask way too often.  In this world we needn’t look far to find something wrong.  How about turning that question around and asking ourselves and those in our lives, “So, what’s right?”  Can you understand how that would change the dynamic of the world if we focused on appreciating what was right in our lives instead of always trying to fix what’s wrong? Could it be there would be less wrong if we spent more time in trying to see through the wrong to what is right?  There is so much right in our lives.  And even what’s wrong can teach us things.  Forgiveness. Love. Patience.  Kindness. Tolerance. Empathy. Compassion. Understanding. Surrendering. Helpfulness.  Even in wrong there is right.

So greet each today with the question, “What’s right?”

May you walk in peace today knowing you are blessed and a blessing in the world.

LOOK GENTLY AND SMILE …

You can best serve by remembering your own Holy truth and sharing of yourself with kindness, empathy and lots of laughter. Enjoy your life.  Enjoy this day. Whenever you feel beset by stress, look gently upon the feeling, smile at any silly thoughts and then let them flow through you and disappear into the nothingness from which they came. As you clear your mind of all that disturbs you, breathe in and out slowly and deeply. Ride the waves of your in breath and your out breath.  If you can close your eyes do so, but this exercise can be done with the eyes wide open and activity all around you.  It’s where you choose to place your focus.   You can do this for a single moment or for extended periods of time.  Whenever you can and wherever you are.  Two of the best times are just before you fall asleep at night and just before you get up in the morning.  In this way you can begin and end your day choosing peace.

May you walk in peace today knowing you are blessed and a blessing in the world.

NOTHING STICKS TO LIGHT

What if you were a light?  Not the light bulb.  Not the sun.  But the light that emanates from them. Only different.  Light is formless.  Light does not fight.  Light does not judge.  Light does not analyze. Light does not resist.  It simply is.  If you were light fear could not stick to you.  If you were light nothing anyone said or did could affect you.  If you were light your own reactions of irritation, anger, fear, depression, sadness, hopelessness and frustration would just float harmlessly around in you for a time and then float away. These emotions could not stay with you because there would be nothing keeping them in you. They need your belief and your resistance to stay alive.

Well, the truth is you are light.  Remember that whenever you feel fear or any of the feelings that come from fear.  Envision yourself as formless, seamless, eternal and unchanging light and let all the things you don’t want to feel simply flow through you.  Love and joy and a calm and gentle peace would be all that remain as these are but facets of your Light.

May you walk in peace today knowing you are blessed and a blessing in the world.

PAY ATTENTION TO ALL THE LOVELY MOMENTS

“We cannot fail to grow in gentleness, wholeness, kindness and beauty when we are more real – more present, sincere, centered, and above all, relaxed.” Hugh Prather

Here is how you know you are seeing your true self and standing in your own light:
Whenever you give a gift with no expectations for being thanked,
Whenever you refuse to judge someone,
Whenever you feel gratitude for someone or something in your life,
Whenever you become aware of a random act of kindness in the world,
Whenever you do a random act of kindness with no thought of having it returned,
Whenever you feel love toward someone in your life,
Whenever you forgive someone or have felt forgiven by someone,
Whenever you have forgiven yourself,
Whenever you have experienced a flash of joy for no particular reason,
Whenever you have felt peace wash over you as you enjoy nature,
Whenever you have felt blessed and blessed another with a loving thought

YOU ARE STANDING IN YOUR OWN LIGHT!

Pay attention to all the lovely moments in your life. Focus on them and let go of all the rest. In this way you will become more whole, more centered, more present, more real, more kind and way more at peace.

May you walk in peace today knowing you are blessed and a blessing in the world.

GIVE IT UP

Often people are afraid to give up their fears. They feel their fears and their dramas define them and to give that up can feel very threatening. I was like that for many years. My drama, my painful past was the glue that held me together and made me what I was. I needed it. It was what made me special. I told the story of my past over and over to anyone who would listen. I gloried in my suffering, my victimhood and basked in the pity and sympathy I received for it. But it couldn’t last, because the more I identified with my past, the more miserable I became and the more drama I attracted. Finally, the pain and the suffering, the anxiety, depression and fear became intolerable for me. I had to find a better way because I was making myself physically ill and I knew it. I did the only thing I could do, I surrendered, gave up, flew the white flag. And I remember the exact moment this happened.

I was standing in my kitchen, fear and rage and hurt and depression weighed on me like an anchor that dragged me down, down into a bottomless pit of hopelessness. My stomach was burning with pain from a pre-ulcer condition. My heart pounded as anxiety attacked me and tears poured down my face. “God, I give up.” I cried into the empty stillness; into the dark and lonely fear. “I can’t do this anymore. I can’t make things better by myself. I give up.”

A few days later, change began to happen. It was like an unseen hand took mine and led me from this darkness into a new day. There were still challenges and I was still afraid, but when I felt those feelings now, I was able to see with a new clarity that they weren’t me and If I looked carefully, I could see right through them. So over and over and over, I surrendered the fear. And when I did, I was able to let healing happen. I still practice this surrendering and letting healing happen today, more than 20 years later.

THIS IS WHAT I LEARNED:
When you surrender control you gain control. When you let healing happen, the entire Universe is at your disposal. And this control will not disturb your peace because it comes from a place of pure love and after a time only the things that truly matter will register in your consciousness. All the little things that caused you such great stress and discomfort will seem unimportant and laughable. You will still do all the practical things in the world that need doing, but you will do them with confidence and a calm and quiet peace that allows you to accomplish more without stress or fear. Your eyes will be clear, your brow smooth, a gentle smile will rest lightly on your lips and laughter will bubble up freely from inside you. People will think you are the same as always, but you will recognize that you are changed.

May you walk in peace today knowing you are blessed and a blessing in the world.

SLEEP YOUR WAY TO PEACE

June 5, 2009
The world renowned spiritual teacher Dr. Wayne Dyer teaches in his book, Excuses Begone, that each night when we go to bed we decide what our night, our next day and our life will be like by what we tell ourselves before we fall asleep. Most people review every negative aspect of their day and their life just before they fall asleep. They remember every insult and mull over every problem, large and small. Then they fall asleep or don’t sleep well because their mind boils and stews about all the problems for the next eight hours or so. The unconscious mind then decides that since these were their last thoughts, this must be what they want and so then their life becomes a series of continuous challenges mixed in with a lot of negative relationships at home, at work or wherever they are. Does this sound familiar?

Dr. Dyer suggests that instead we spend the last five minutes of our day, just before falling asleep telling ourselves what we want and then allowing ourselves to experience how that would feel.

Some suggestions for bed time thoughts are:

I am a beautiful spiritual being.
I am happy all the time.
I am healthy and strong.
I have a wonderful and loving relationship with everyone in my life.
I have a great job.
My body is just the right size for perfect health.
I only want to eat food that is good for me.
I love to exercise.
Make up your own affirmations in which you experience exactly the life you want. Remember, after each affirmation to take a second and feel the happiness and the good feeling that having what you want gives you. For the next hours that you sleep your unconscious will see these intentions instead of the negative ones. Now, watch your life transform.

May you walk in peace today knowing you are blessed and a blessing in the world.

FIND YOURSELF IN STILLNESS

Find yourself in stillness. Listen to the silence. You may fear that if you become calm and quiet and peaceful, you will lose yourself, your edge, your energy, your purpose. But let me reassure you that in stillness you will find yourself.

May you walk in peace today knowing you are blessed and a blessing in the world.

FORGIVENESS HEALS

June 3, 2009
Forgiveness is the most important aspect of our healing. It is not the superior, “You did something terrible to me and now I forgive you.” Instead true forgiveness in the spiritual sense is simply letting go and releasing all attachment to your own thoughts, words and actions as well as the thoughts, words and actions of others. This does not mean that you condone mistakes, your own or anyone else’s. Instead it means that you see through them to the truth and the light within. You can then accept that “Yes, I made a mistake, but it need not disturb my peace.” Or “Yes, my brother/sister made a mistake, but it need not disturb my peace.” This is very powerful for reclaiming your joy and living in your peace place.

If someone does or says something about you that is not true, why would you be disturbed by that? After all, it isn’t true! No one can make you something you aren’t, no matter what they do or say. When you remain in peace no matter what’s going on around you, you are in a state of forgiveness. In this state you can allow healing for yourself and be helpful and of great service to others. Not necessarily to do or say something, (although you may be guided to do or say something), but more likely you will simply be guided to be still, calm, at peace. Your calm and quiet presence in the NOW is the greatest and most powerful way you can serve in a world of chaos. In stillness loving energy flows freely. In stillness healing happens. In stillness you can clearly hear and feel and see your purpose here. In stillness you are attuned and aligned with your Spirit Self, your True Self; the self that God created. In stillness all your pain and suffering, anxiety, depression, fear, worry and sadness will disappear. Exercise your stillness muscle and tap into your true power.

May you walk in peace today knowing you are blessed and a blessing in the world.
