GOD IS ONLY LOVE

There are only two ways of seeing in the world.  Through the eyes of Love which is God or through the eyes of the ego which is fear. Since God is only Love and God is all there is, anything that is not of God cannot really exist.  Yes, it looks and feels real and can be very distracting when we are experiencing it, but if we remember that it isn’t God and therefore is only a harmless illusion we can take our power back and choose to see everything through God’s eyes.  When we look at everything with God and lift up all fear and darkness to Him, He then can shine His light into the darkness and show us it is nothing.

Remember no matter how it looks, no matter how it feels, no matter how it manifests itself, in our body or in our life, if it doesn’t bring us peace or feel loving,  IT IS NOT GOD.  God is only Love and God is all there is.

God’s Love lights us from within. Fear is always on the outside. Like a pesky mosquito trying to break through our spiritual skin. So together let’s lift all our problems up to Him so He can make the corrections from fear into Love.  And now – this is very important – we must stand back and get out of His way so He can do His job. When we are steeped in worry and anxiety, we are interfering with God’s work and thereby blocking His Healing Love.  As we give everything to Him, we need to forget about this world.  Once we have lifted our worries to God, we are now free to go about our day with a calm and quiet knowing that He has taken our pain and our problems from us and all we have to left to do is place our Trust in Him.

Let’s then turn our thoughts elsewhere.  We can visualize something beautiful like a garden or a rainbow, a work of art, a piece of music or whatever we find beautiful in this world, a snowy mountain top, a green park with children playing on the playground. We can breathe in all the world’s beauty and let God’s Love fill us and overflow into every aspect of our life.  And now, together, let’s thank God for taking our problems away and leaving us with His peace and love and joy forever.

May you walk in peace today knowing you are blessed and a blessing in the world.

FORGIVENESS IS THE KEY THAT OPENS EVERY DOOR

Every experience that makes us unhappy comes from fear and guilt. The solution is always forgiveness.  Forgiveness in the true sense is seeing the TRUTH in everyone and in every experience no matter how it looks in the world.  And we can only see in this true way by asking for help to see the world and everyone here through the eyes of God’s Love.  And then gently laughing at all we think is so serious. There is no other way.  And as challenging as this is for most of us, it’s so worth the effort.  It’s a muscle we need to exercise every day until one day, there it is – the answer to the Universe and true peace.  Forgiveness will then become our nature. And we will see clearly that “Forgiveness is the key to happiness.” (ACIM) Remember, this forgiveness that comes from God does not mean we look upon the wrong doing of others with judgment and then forgive them for the terrible things they did to us.  It means looking through the terrible things and seeing only God’s love in ourselves and everyone. It means remembering this prayer at all times, “God Is” and then stopping because we now truly understand that God is all there is and God is only Love.

There are people here in this world who have experienced terrible atrocities at the hands of others.  I know of a man whose wife was murdered and he forgave the murderer and now the murderer is a changed person, an artist and a spiritual teacher.  She is still in prison, but she serves in the prison as an instrument of peace and healing. She helps the other prisoners to see the world through the eyes of God’s Love so they too can change their minds and their perceptions and learn to be calm and gentle and kind and to extend joy to others.

The only way to change the world is to change how we see the world and everyone in it.  We must be willing to forgive and be healed and we must want this for everyone. We cannot allow a single child of God to remain in darkness if we want to see and experience His light.

May you walk in peace today knowing you are blessed and a blessing in the world.

WALK IN THE LIGHT OF ONENESS

A Course In Miracles teaches there is only one problem and one solution.  The problem is believing that we have somehow separated from God, our Source.  This problem is human-made and is the cause of all of our fears and all of our guilts. If we don’t feel we have separated from God, then we must look around.  Do we see other people as different from us?  Do we judge them and their behavior as good or bad or right or wrong?  And do we judge ourselves this way as well? Do we value our individuality, our uniqueness, our specialness?  If so, we cannot truly believe we are not separate from God.  In God there is only Oneness and when we are truly seeing ourselves as One with God, even though we see separate bodies, we cannot judge them. In God we do not see our interests and our needs as separate from anyone else’s.  No matter how different we look in the world, if we believed in our Oneness with God, any differences we see in each other would be superficial and of little matter.  In truth we would remember we are all here for one purpose, to learn peace by remembering our Oneness.

Let’s begin today.  “Thank you God that no matter how I believe I do not deserve your Love or I do not believe my brothers and sisters deserve your Love, I AM WRONG.  And no matter how strongly I feel that I am different from everyone else, I am wrong about that too.”

Then we can ask God to help us remember that no matter how the world looks to us, or how angry or violent, or sad and unhappy we are or someone else appears to be, we truly all want the same thing, God’s Love which translates into abundance and happiness and peace. We can never be truly at peace as long as we judge ourselves separate from someone else. Or as long as we judge someone else at all.  It is through our relationships we will be healed. Those relationships may be with someone close to us or with someone we meet fleetingly in the grocery store or pass by on the street or someone we hear about on the news or watch on a reality TV show. So wish God’s Peace upon your brothers and sisters everywhere, so you may have it for yourself.

What we think is what we bring to ourselves.  If we think separation through judgment, our experiences will reflect that.  If we think Oneness, our experiences will be beautiful and loving, abundant and Holy.  The beauty is that it is all up to us.  Every moment of every day we can choose how to experience our life. Either through ego’s fear and judgment which makes us feel separated from God or through Love and patience, forgiveness, understanding and kindness which opens our minds to our Oneness with God.  So let’s smile as Beloved Children of a Loving God, laugh gently at all we thought was so serious and be our true self, One with God and all His Universe and very, very, very happy.

May you walk in peace today knowing you are blessed and a blessing in the world.

LISTEN, LISTEN, LISTEN …

From everything I’ve read, heard, learned from all my studies and have taught over the years, it is clear to me that there is nothing so important to peace and healing than LISTENING.  We’ve all heard that prayer is talking to God and meditation is listening to God.  We spend a lot of time talking to God.  And prayer is a beautiful thing as it allows us to communicate and feel close to Him.  But unless we stop and listen He can’t answer us.  Actually, it’s more accurate to say that He is always answering us, but unless we stop and listen, we can’t hear Him.

It goes without saying that listening is one of the most difficult things for us to do, particularly those of us in the Western world where we have been trained that our problems are so very important and they can’t be fixed without our telling God all about them and then asking Him to fix them in just the way we dictate to Him.  In truth, God knows our problems and the only true prayer is probably, THY WILL BE DONE, followed by a period of silent meditation.

There are books, cd’s, dvd’s, classes – a multitude of sources for help in learning to meditate and become silent.  Since listening is the most important skill we need to acquire for peace, let’s begin now.  Together, let’s breathe in and out in quiet breaths, letting go of all the ego’s chattering thoughts that want to distract us.  Let’s make it our intention to hear only our breath.  When the chattering thoughts come, let’s not pay attention to them, but allow them to float away, while we return our focus on our breath.

Just as we bathe and shower to clean off yesterday’s dirt from our bodies, so must we spend time in prayer and meditation to free ourselves of yesterday’s stress and problems.  As we meditate and listen we clear our minds for new miracles and healing opportunities.

While we’re learning to meditate we can also practice listening in our day to day moments.  We all have a tendency to respond to others with the first thought that pops out of our mouth.  What if, before we respond to anyone, our partners, our parents, our siblings, our children, our friends, our co-workers, strangers on the street, people who drive us crazy, people in the news, people we know and those we don’t know – what if, we just stopped for a moment and said, “God, tell me what to think and say and do here.”  What if, before we discipline our child, we grew quiet a moment and said, “God, please tell me how to handle this situation with my child.”  What if before we attacked or defended ourselves with our partners, our parents, our siblings, we stopped and said, “God, please tell me how to respond in this situation.”   Unless someone is in danger or we are in immediate danger, there is no reason why we can’t take a moment and ask God for help in everything.  Remember, if we don’t have time to ask in long sentences, “Help me, God,” will do nicely.

If we practice meditation and asking for help faithfully, then when there is a moment when our immediate response is required, we will know exactly what to do or say because we will already be open to God who never stops speaking. And the act of thoughtful meditation and conscious mindfulness, aligns us with God’s Loving Energy and actually protects us from illness, stress and danger because it harmonizes and balances our minds and therefore our experiences.  It is through listening that we can truly understand what it means to be governed by the Laws of God.

May you walk in peace today knowing you are blessed and a blessing in the world.

FEATHERS ON A BREEZE

“My mind holds only what I think with God.” A Course In Miracles  Lesson 142

Any thought we try to think apart from God is not a thought at all.  For there are no true thoughts that have not been given to us by God.  And God’s thoughts are thought without words.  They simply exist in the silence of our own perfection. When we busy our minds with our daily this and that we often cannot hear God’s thoughts or feel His presence very well.  His presence happens in the quiet nature of our inner being.  It flows through us like light through glass.  And although we must go about our daily this and that, we can stop often for just a moment or two and let His light flow through us and allow His voice to speak to our hearts and reassure us that somehow, all is well.  And these moments of quiet truth and listening and hearing with pure clarity will carry us like feathers on a breeze. And then, like feathers on a breeze, we will float through our day with gentle ease and all will be simple and we will be living our truth as we were meant to.  And nothing in the busyness of our daily this and that can stop us from our peace and the wonder of our joy.

May you walk in peace today knowing you are blessed and a blessing in the world.

THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD

“We are the light of the world” And as the light of the world we are governed only by the laws of God. As we allow our light to join with all other lights, we breathe easy and our hearts and minds grow quiet. In this light we see that we are healed and whole. In this light we are rested and refreshed. In this light peace and calm fill our beings and rule our experiences. Our eyes, the window to our souls, are soft and gentle. Our smiles are blessings that lift our spirits and spread love wherever we go and upon all who come into our line of vision. And now we see the world as blessed. And we breathe in this simple pray, “God is the Love with which I experience this moment.” And all is clear. In God we are safe and well and perfect and beautiful. God is all that is real and the world has become a  reflection of His Truth. Our hearts fill with gratitude. And when fear comes we know one thing for sure. It isn’t love and so it isn’t real. And we let it go. And all that remains is pure joy. We laugh out loud in joyous recognition of our truth. As God hears our laughter, He hears it as a grateful prayer.

May you walk in peace today knowing you are blessed and a blessing in the world.

FOLLOW YOUR OWN PATH

There is a path that lies before us which we feel compelled to follow. It is the path to peace. As we take each step we see, to our amazement, that every rock and boulder, every branch and twig has been cleared and our way is smooth and easy. The birds sing their songs with pure joy and a gentle breeze smooths our brow. The scent of pine fills our senses from the surrounding woods. We feel every muscle loosen and relax like a rope unwinding. We find a grassy spot to rest and quench our thirst from a nearby stream of crystal water flowing freely. We have no needs or wants. We have no attachments or fears. We feel no resistance to anything. There is nothing here upon this path, put pure peace. And since it is our path, it is easy to follow and when it ends, it ends in sunshine. It ends in a meadow filled with flowers and there is everyone else ready to greet us with laughter, recognition of our truth and pure joy which we gladly mingle with theirs. And still we are in the world as before only now it is a happy world of abundance and health and well being, a world defined by peaceful thoughts, a world of joining and oneness, a world created by the Universe that lives right beside the dark, dim world we thought was our home, but isn’t. And all God asks of us to see and to experience this loving world is to turn our face toward the light and follow our path.

May you walk in peace today knowing you are blessed and a blessing in the world.

THIS TOO SHALL PASS

“Nonresistance, nonjudgment, and nonattachment are the three aspects of true freedom and enlightened living.” Eckhart Tolle (The New Earth)

When we truly understand that all of our problems are caused by our resistance, our judgment and our attachment we will finally be free. Think of something or someone that disturbs your peace. Just thinking about them will probably cause resistance within you. A tightening of the chest, heart beating faster, anger or fear rising within you. You want to stop it and your natural inclination is to resist. It becomes something that is judged bad. The judgment and the resistance are signs of attachment.

Now envision this situation or experience as a breeze that simply blows through you. As it blows through you, you no longer try to stop it. Without resistance it can only pass through and move on, out and away. Because you did not resist it, you did not judge it. Because you did not judge it, you did not become attached to it. Instead of it being something as it had in the past, that took up your time and your energy, this time it left without affecting you in any way. It was just a breeze that simply moved through and disappeared into the nothingness from which it came. “This too shall pass” simply means that if we do not stop it, everything that bothers us will flow by without touching us or hurting us.

When you feel resistance and want to judge or attach become still. Breathe quietly and calmly and feel the breeze of truth as it blows your troubles away. Then you can smile with joy and know that it’s true, “This too shall pass.”

THE POWER OF THE UNIVERSE IS IN YOUR SMILE

“Wearing a smile is a sign that you are master of yourself.” Thich Nhat Hanh

In our relationships with others, it is important to release the ego limited thinking completely and see them in the light of love. In other words, simply hold in our mind the truth of whoever is disturbing our peace, combine it with the truth of us and think no words at all. Just experience love flowing back and forth between each of us, a stream of light from their heart to our heart and our heart to theirs. We can do this when we are in the presence of the other person or sometimes it’s easier at first, when we are apart. We will know that our loving self has taken control of the experience when we feel a smile form at the center of our heart and radiate throughout our being. In this smile is the power of the Universe because now we have allowed God’s Love to transform our thinking from “I am the victim” to “I am a Child of God who wants only peace and joy in this relationship.”

Remember, our lessons with others won’t go away until WE choose something else. Choose to smile, choose to laugh at all that doesn’t matter. We must empower ourselves with our own joy. If someone wants to be serious and create drama we needn’t join them. If we ask for guidance in how to handle each situation and each relationship before long the right words and actions will flow into our mind so the corrections can be made. This does not mean laughing in the face of others’ fears, but instead gently understanding and silently and with great kindness, empathizing while quietly knowing for them and for ourselves that fear is false and only God and His Love are true.

Remember, we are all a beautiful Light in the world. We don’t have to see this to know it is true. No one can diminish our light with their fears any more than we can diminish theirs with ours.

We can get into a new habit of smiling often for no apparent reason by beginning our day with a smile and ending our day with a smile. We must, of course, understand that it is more important to be happy than to be right. If we quietly ask for help in seeing our fears through God’s eyes, He will show us how to look at the fear and teach us how to surrender it to Him. Our experiences here in this world will change when we can allow ourselves to gently laugh at the nonsense instead of taking ourselves, each other and the world so seriously.

May you walk in peace today knowing you are blessed and a blessing in the world.

OUR TRUE COLORS

We are only afraid when we believe that we have somehow separated ourselves from our Source. God sees only our perfection, our Oneness with Him and all others and if we see ourselves as He sees us we can never be afraid. And that is the answer. See yourself and all your brothers and sisters as God sees you and feel His joy fill your being. See through the behaviors, the fears and the anger, see through the judgments, the neediness, the sadness, see through the sickness and the drama to the perfection that lives inside each one of us. All the forms in which we appear as separate are not the truth of us. We often say when someone misbehaves, that they are showing their true colors. They are not showing their true colors, they are hiding behind their ego’s misperceptions which is dark and dim. They are crying out for whatever they feel is missing in their lives. And the only thing they can think they are missing is God because God is all there is.

Their true colors and ours are the same, clear and bright and beautiful, loving and joyous and kind and filled with gratitude and grace. Our true colors are constant and eternal and never changing. Everyone only wants what is already theirs. Peace and Joy and Love and Healing. When we hide our gifts behind the ego’s fears, we believe they do not exist and then we are terrified. And in our terror we act out in very strange and often violent and destructive ways. But this darkness and fear from which we act out is not a color. There are no colors in darkness. Our job is to lift all thoughts of fear, ours and all others to the light of God so He can shine the darkness away and show us our true colors. Our prayer is, “God, help me see this experience and this brother/sister/myself through your eyes.”

Now we walk in the light of our true colors and bless everyone along the way so they can be offered the opportunity to walk in the light of their true colors as well. And now all the colors blend into one glorious and constant true color and there we are – all together, safe and well under God’s Loving Light. And all one color. And that color is LOVE.

May you walk in peace today knowing you are blessed and a blessing in the world.

BREATHING ROOM

We have a room for watching TV and playing games, a room for eating and preparing food, a room for sleeping, a room for attending to toilet needs and cleaning our bodies, possibly a room for sewing and crafts, a room for guests and a space for the cars, but we often don’t have a room or even a small space in one of the rooms to rest and heal our spirit. This healing space, this breathing room, is equally important to the other rooms and in some cases even more so. This is the room or space for growing still, for breathing calmly and getting quiet.  And along with a room, we need to find the time, even ten minutes, five minutes, two minutes can enrich our lives beyond measure.  And in fact, the more time we spend in this quiet space where nothing is expected of us and the more we allow ourselves to let go of the need to control or do anything, the more we will see how much we need this time, this space, this breathing room.

Find a small space today.  Set out flowers or candles or both on a small table.  Make it a beautiful, holy space that belongs to you. Close the door on the busyness of everyday life and gift yourself this time and this breathing room.  It can be outside in the garden, in a sun porch or anywhere. There are no rules. Make it sacred and inviolate. And then just allow.  Allow yourself to breathe in calm breaths.  Smile gently and soften your vision and let your Angels visit you here.  Feel God’s loving presence as you rest lightly against Him. Open your mind and heart to your own inner truth and envision light and healing here.  Inspirations will come as you turn inward and leave the world behind for a short while.  Questions will be answered as you grow quiet and simply listen. Joy will visit you and love will fill your heart and overflow into your sacred space and you will remember who you are.  Not who you think you are, but who you are in truth. You are the glorious creation of a loving God. You are a seeker of truth and an instrument of peace. You are your own best friend.

There is always room.
There is always time.
For God and for You.

Give yourself this gift, this blessing, this breathing room and watch healing happen.

May you walk in peace today knowing you are blessed and a blessing in the world.

BELIEVE ONLY THE TRUTH

Sickness, fear, scarcity, violence, war and all the things that come from fear are not a part of God’s Holy thinking and therefore are not His will for us.  Since they are not His will, we can lay them down by choosing God’s will instead of ego’s and at last be free.  We can eliminate all we do not want from our lives by simply remembering in this and in every moment, “I am God’s Holy Child and His will for me is perfect oneness, perfect healing, absolute forgiveness and complete joy.  God is only Love and God is all there is.

Fill your mind and heart with the following words.  Think or say them with purpose and decision.  As you think them and say them – BELIEVE THEM.  And they will become your reality.  That’s how the mind empowers the being.  That’s how we allow God to be in charge of every experience.

I am entitled to miracles, large and small, that color my world and make me smile.

I am entitled to everything I need. Even when I don’t know exactly what that is, there is a living, breathing life inside me that knows more than I.

I am entitled to perfect health; health of mind and body and spirit.

I am entitled to perfect safety. Even when the world seems unsafe, I am perfectly safe.

I am entitled to happiness, the kind that never changes and never leaves me.

I am entitled to joy, the joy that lights my eyes, lifts my heart and brings me peace.

I am entitled to a calm and quiet state of mind that lives sanely within me even when the world seems insane.

I am entitled to love, relationship love, family love and friendship love. And the other Love that comes from deep within my soul and is my gift from a Source that I may have temporarily forgotten, but will remember now.

Read this every day. Or whenever you forget the things you are entitled to.  Read just the one you need this moment.  Or read them all.  And feel each affirmation until it permeates your being and changes your life.

GIVING AND GRATITUDE

We all have a higher purpose here.  Ours is simply to be our own best self.  As we come into contact with others, we need to remember to offer them a silent blessing.  As we bless others, so do we bless ourselves. This opens a channel to our own best Self.

To experience the fullest enjoyment of life, choose to be of service and do so with a grateful heart and without expectation.  Just as the gentle rains fall upon the earth and nourish the flowers and the trees without asking for thanks, so should we bestow our nourishing gifts of forgiveness and service to others.  The love and healing with which we are blessed by our giving is all we need for our own healing. The rain sees the flowers bloom and the trees grow strong and tall and that’s enough. When we serve with a grateful heart we give a gift without concern of how the receiver uses our gift. It is all in the giving. In this way we are relieved of any responsibility or burden in deciding who to serve and how our gift should be used. God becomes in charge of our gifts and extends His gratitude by blessing us Himself.  And we must be grateful as well, for the opportunity to bless others in His name.

GRATITUDE
G ratitude is quiet grace in action and
R emembering to look, to listen and be
A ware of every opportunity to
T hank God for all the blessings
I n your life and to use them as a chance to
T rust in your own truth and in God’s Loving Laws,
U nderstanding that the entire Universe is
D esigned for your happiness and to give you
E verything you need if you simply trust and let it be.

BREATHE, SMILE, OBSERVE, BE

Life is a journey, moment by moment.  Living mindfully and being aware of each moment is the path to peace.  Living mindfully is forgiveness in its true essence. Even as we’re thinking a thought, that thought and it’s topic is over.  To be mindful requires clearing our minds of all judgments and all ego chatter and simply observing from a state of being.  Doing this with a gentle smile and a calm breath will remove all stress and will allow healing of the spirit and through healing of the spirit comes healing of the body.  With practice this can be done in every spare moment and even as we go about our daily lives.  Breathe, Smile, Observe, Be.  Soon you will be showered with loving miracles that would have otherwise gone unnoticed.

I place in your hand a beautiful flower to help you remember mindfulness.  A flower just grows and blooms right where it is.  It has no expectations other than to be.  And in this being it brings joy to every heart who experiences it. And when it fades or is picked, another flower grows in its place. In this way as each moment fades, another moment arises. And each moment is but another opportunity for our mindfulness state of healing and being.  Each flower shares the spirit of every other flower for in mindfulness, all are connected and all are one. In the state of mindfulness, we also are one with each other and with each flower and with each butterfly and the birds and all of nature and with all the Universe. Mindfulness Being is where God lives and loves us and welcomes us home. And this home is our peace, our joy, our happiness, our healing and God’s will for us – right where we are.
Breathe, Smile, Observe, Be.

May you walk in peace today knowing you are blessed and a blessing in the world.

BREATHE IN LOVE, BREATHE OUT FEAR

“God is but Love and therefore so am I”  ACIM

The light of the truth of you shines upon you and through you. It never changes and never leaves you.  There are exercises to help you see this. Smile a gentle smile for no reason at all.  Soften your vision and relax any tension in your head, face, neck, between your shoulders and throughout your body. Breathe in and out slowly and calmly and stay in a state of quiet mindfulness.  Pay attention to this moment.  Listen to everyone, not just what they’re saying, but what their hearts are saying. And no matter what they’re saying or what they’re doing quietly bless them for they are your brother and your sister in need of healing.  When you find it in your heart to bless others, you will find you no longer need their drama in your life. They may still be there, but their drama will no longer affect you.

Now do this also for yourself. When you feel anxious, tense or afraid, smile gently for no reason.  Soften your vision and understand that what you are feeling is not you, but simply your ego trying to prevent you from shining in God’s Loving Light.  As serious and strong as fear can feel at times, Love is always stronger.

Breathe in Love.  Breathe out fear.  Now you are reflecting the Love and the Light of God within you.

May you walk in peace today knowing you are blessed and a blessing in the world.

BRING IT ON!

Fear is a powerful addiction.  We think we don’t want it.  We pray for peace and healing. We beg for love and signs of our own truth. But soon we are bowing down to fear again.  We climb out of the pit and reach for the lifeline to peace and then promptly judge someone, or attack someone or defend ourselves against someone or let our attachments rule our thinking. We cry for peace and pray for peace and then sabotage our peace by choosing something other than God.  And in the end it is fear that will set us free.  By acknowledging it, accepting responsibility for it, allowing it to just be and then surrendering it to God we can, with practice, finally be free.  But we will never be free if we deny it in any of its myriad forms.  We will never be free if we think fear is something outside of us or something done to us, instead of something we do to ourselves.  Fear in every form is there because we chose it.  No one and nothing can affect us unless we allow it.  Accepting responsibility for our fear is a giant step in letting it go.

So now walk in the light of your own being.  Laugh joyfully in the face of your fears and lift them up to God where His light will shine away the darkness for you.  Cry out to fear, “Bring it on!  You can’t hurt me.  I am a Holy Child of a Loving God.  I am the Light of the world.  Perfect peace and holiness lives inside of me.  I am here to be an instrument of peace.  Fear can’t stop me from the path that God has set for me.”  And then grow still and listen as God whispers lovingly inside your heart, “Be at peace, my child and know that you are free.”  Then walk with Him upon the path of perfect Oneness and see that He is here and all is well.

May you walk in peace today knowing you are blessed and a blessing in the world.

SIMPLY BE

“Only if we are still enough inside and the noise of thinking subsides can we become aware that there is a hidden harmony here, a sacredness, a higher order in which everything has its perfect place and could not be other than what it is and the way it is.”  Elkhart Tolle

We try so hard to order the world, to control, manipulate and scrub and push and prod things into what we perceive as orderly and organized.  It gives us a sense of harmony and balance when we look about our surroundings and see everything in its place.  The house is clean, the garage is organized, the lawn is mowed, the garbage is taken away.  And then we breathe a sigh of relief, but only for a short time because, as is the way of this world, it never stays orderly and organized and clean. And before long, like mice in a maze, we are running around doing the same things all over again.  Our ego minds are never orderly, forever thinking thoughts of this and that, most of which, if we took the time to stop and listen, we would discover are pretty much nonsense.  Repetitious nonsense. Over and over the same mindless thoughts flow through our brains.  We’re like a puppet without a master.  Have you ever wondered, “Where did that thought come from?”

It’s often difficult to listen in this noisy world, but listening and quietly looking is the only way to ever find order and peace.  Only in the stillness within us can we find what we are searching for so frantically. And as we go within to find order, only then do we have stress-free control over every aspect of our lives.

Envision yourself resting against a tree and let that tree be God, strong, trustworthy and able to take your full weight as though it were nothing.  Look up and see the branches of the tree above you and the deep green of its foliage protecting you and keeping you safe from the baking sun and the drenching rain.  And as you rest against Him think no thoughts, but simply let silence enfold you like a comforting white blanket.  Feel the relief, the peace, and the joy of knowing that you have no responsibility but to simply allow your life to unfold without worry or concern.  And as it unfolds, simply look at it quietly without attachment or emotion or judgment of any kind. Watch as your Angels busy themselves around you taking care of everything, now and then giving you gentle direction so you know what to do and say in each instance of your experience here.  Hear only laughter today.  See only miracles today.  Bask in the wonder of your own beauty today.  Be amazed at the beauty in everyone you encounter.  And know this is your real life.  This is the true you.  And it requires nothing from you, but to simply be.  Herein will you find true, unchanging, ceaseless and eternal order.

May you walk in peace today knowing you are blessed and a blessing in the world.

WHY FIGHT IT?

“Do not be afraid to trust yourself, to think your own thoughts, to walk gently and easily toward your goal.  The One who is with you speaks not from without, but from within.” Hugh Prather

We think we are what others declare us to be.  We think we are our jobs and our place in the world, mother, father, sister, brother, child, friend, employer, employee, environmentalist, teacher, doctor, and on and on.  The fact is those are the things we do. We feel either empowered or deflated by another’s reaction to what we do, believing that what we do is who we are.  If we were to focus on what we truly are, eternal spirit, Child of a Loving God, a being of light and love, a healer in the world, an instrument of God’s peace – if we put those thoughts of us first and foremost, an amazing thing would happen.  What we do would be done without stress, with loving grace, guilt free with time expanding to accommodate us instead of us trying frantically to accommodate time.  If we put our truth up front, and believed and trusted in this truth, life would flow smoothly and we would lift others up to our level of peace and love and joy. Nothing anyone said or did would disturb our peace, because we would have no need to judge others or protect ourselves.  We would be guilt-free because we would no longer judge ourselves.

Your exercise would be to look at all the things you think you are and surrender them one by one to God.  And then look at all the things you think you want and surrender them to God. This does not mean you would not still appear to be the same person, doing all the things you do, nor does it mean you have to sacrifice your things. It simply means that now you would be doing everything with the Love of God in your heart. And you would own your things from a place of love and abundance instead of scarcity and fear of loss.  It is unavoidable that we be peaceful and joyous because those experiences are our true nature.  We can deny our truth for a long, long time, but eventually we must join ourselves at our highest level and be one with all the Universe as we were created to be.  It is inevitable.  Why fight it?  Simply let go of all that you do not want and open to everything you do.  You don’t have to do anything, but simply be willing to be happy.  All God asks of us is our willingness to let Him be our Guide through this world and He will do the rest.

May you walk in peace today knowing you are blessed and a blessing in the world.

LOVE IS EVERYWHERE

A little update for everyone who has joined us on this journey of love and healing:  Yesterday, Kristen was implanted with a Pacemaker/Defibrillator and all went well.  They’re saying her heart is still weak, but the medical plan is to have her on some very strong heart strengthening medications along with the pacemaker/defib.  Both of these are meant to help strengthen her heart as well as keep it beating if it should slow down or become erratic.  She is coming home today!  We thank God and celebrate along with a little Mother ego concern that we won’t be able to look at the monitor and be reassured by her heart rate. She will have a lot of follow up, as the cardiologist put it, “We’re going to be watching her like a hawk.”  She has to follow certain rules, but otherwise they want her to have a normal life.  Whatever that is. At this point normal as we knew it, has pretty much flown out the window. She has been put on a heart transplant list as a safety net, but Kristen is determined that that won’t be necessary.  And we are standing strong with her on that.  Please join us in this.

Last night Kristen’s sister, Heather and I stayed with her overnight at the hospital so her husband, Matt, could get a good night’s sleep.  When it was just the three of us in the room, Kristen turned to Heather and I and said, “So what’s the plan?”  The plan we discussed was continuing to put God in charge and to trust in His plan.  The plan involved a complete healing of her heart.  The plan meant that Kristen intended to use this experience for a greater loving purpose.  One which involved serving and helping others.  The plan was for Kristen to let go of living in the world and focusing so much on bodies and get spiritual.  It involved all of us joining with the world in love and joy and learning and teaching forgiveness and allowing healing.

Kristen is a clinical social worker and as soon as she’s strong enough she wants to begin using all the miracles and the outpouring of love from this experience as part of her service in the world.  She wants to teach changing of minds and not just changing behavior.  She’s talking about writing a book. She’s 33 years old, but this experienced has aged her spiritually about a thousand years.  She sees a greater purpose in this and intends to use it to help heal herself and others.  She wants to be a teacher of God and an instrument of peace.  She has always been a grateful person, but now she is much more forgiving.

They have a healing garden at St. Luke’s and Heather and I tried to be in there at any moments that we needed to leave Kristen for medical procedures, etc. Inside was filled with peace plants and all number of green and growing things, along with waterfalls and fountains, rocks and rock walls and lush flowers. Outside more plants and flowers grew in a beautiful design everything surrounded by gorgeous, huge rocks. There is a labyrinth for walking meditations. It is so beautiful that we were able to breathe in healing and get balance and harmony.  I walked the labyrinth again and again, reciting Course in Miracles affirmations in my mind and growing still and listening, listening, listening. I could hear the beating of my healthy heart conjoined with the beating of Kristen’s healing heart in my mind. What a gift from God! In the tiny chapel they had a healing tree.  I wrote a short prayer on a piece of ribbon and tied it to the healing tree where it became one with all the other prayer ribbons.

Kristen wanted so much to visit the healing garden that we told her about, but she was tied to tubes and was only allowed to go to the bathroom with a nurse, pushing a big machine.  Finally last night she had been unplugged from the machine and was able to walk and then be wheeled through the healing garden.  It was a beautiful and healing experience for Kristen.  She truly felt the presence of God and oneness with all the Universe as I slowly wheeled her around the garden and I could feel sickness, weakness and fear leave her and only a rainbow of love and gratitude remained. As it filled her, it surged through me and my husband, Dale. A nurse came with us, to monitor her and afterward the nurse thanked Kristen for wanting to come to the garden.  She had always been too busy to spend time in the garden and she found the experience to be balancing and healing for herself as well.

There have been so many miracles and so much love pouring through Kristen.  She is on prayer chains all over the country (and possibly the world) and every day someone else offers to pray for her or add her to their prayer circle.  Just this alone comforts me that she will be completely healed. There is no way that this much love can go unnoticed in the Universe. Kristen joked at one point, that she was going to try and see how many people she could connect before this was over.

I want to thank everyone who is carrying us and holding us up with their miracle thoughts, healing energy and loving prayers through this journey. All of the services you have provided have been enormously helpful and we are so grateful.  Many of you have literally lifted our lives and all the responsibilities and burdens of every day from our shoulders so we could be with Kristen. It isn’t over yet and so we still need your prayers and healing thoughts, but it is because of you that I have complete trust that Kristen’s heart will be strong and in perfect condition very, very soon. And Kristen’s desire to help others through her experience has truly been a miracle in itself. “It’s time I get into my spirit,” she said more than once.

Once she was out of sedation and fully conscious she was her old delightfully sassy and hilarious self. Everyone who spoke to her or visited her literally left her room laughing. This included all the wonderful nurses, doctors and other hospital staff. Her strength and courage, her confidence and determination to heal her heart and her positive spin on everything made this journey a time where fear was often banished and only hope and love remained. Her strong spirit and her powerful light many times over rode everything she and we were experiencing.  When she was afraid, she became quiet and let her sister and I lift her back up into the place of hope and love and truth where she belonged.  My gratitude for all the miracles knows no bounds. God truly lives and fills the world.  I see a ribbon of light connecting each and every one of us with all of you and all those we don’t even know and at the end of that ribbon there is only God.  Only God and His glory and His Love.

Thank you, my precious people.  I will never forget all you have done to make this experience a living, breathing miracle of healing and love and laughter.  You have literally saved Kristen’s life and mine as well.  Love, Sharie

SO MANY MIRACLES

With my daughter, Kristen, in intensive care and not much more for me to do then be with her, I have spent a lot of time in meditation and surrendering fear.  The fear slaps me hard at times, but then I just get quiet, look straight at it, and let it go the best I can.  I remind myself that it is not this fear that is governing our experience here, but the power of God’s Love.

Today Kristen was wide awake and her old self which was wonderful for us to see.  I can’t tell you how full my heart is from all the love, the prayers and the miracles right and left.  I would love to live in this loving atmosphere all the time minus the heart condition.  My heart feels so open and welcoming and welcomed.  Kristen too was feeling it.  “I feel the love,” she said more than once.  And “I’m so filled with love I must look like one ray of light.”  And she did.  We are so certain she will fully recovery just because how can all this light not be making the proper corrections.  I totally believe this experience is being governed by the laws of God which transcend the laws of the world.  In God’s laws miracles of love are raining everywhere.

One of my favorite prayers goes like this:
My mind is calm and quiet.
My ego thoughts are still.
My heart forgives with gentle kindness.
In silent miracles I hear God’s loving will.

This isn’t very professionally written, but that’s all right. It serves its purpose which is to calm me down. Excuse me now, I have to go splash around in my pool of miracles.

In gratitude and peace and love, Sharie
