Everyone is in our lives to teach us something.

Our main lessons are forgiveness, kindness, compassion, tolerance and patience. As soon as we all understand this our health and happiness is freed from the prison of our judgments and we are lifted a little higher on the rung of Peace. 

Now those who annoy us the most are not our enemies, but our greatest teachers. They teach us where our fears and judgments lie so we can surrender them to God and finally be free. They remind us everyone has a back story that we do not know so we can lift everything to God and ask for a blessing upon them no matter what insanity we see. That is true forgiveness.

”What could you want forgiveness cannot give? Do you want peace? Forgiveness offers it. Do you want happiness, a quiet mind, a certainty of purpose, and a sense of worth and beauty that transcends the world? Do you want care and safety, and the warmth of sure protection always? Life is but a series of challenging and healing moments usually misunderstood. Often our belief in time is the problem.

Let’s step back from time a moment. Now having calmed our thoughts and slowed our heart rate, let’s breathe in each moment as though smelling a lovely flower. Instead of rushing through our life, always stressed and feeling behind, let’s let time unfold like a panorama of amazing opportunities and wondrous gifts. If we will let God be part of every moment, we will see our perception of time change radically.

Now we’re never late because we are blessing each moment as a miracle. When we do this time seems to expand and everything we wanted to accomplish will be done and more in the same amount of time with no stress and no anxiety. We have stepped back so God can be our guide. It’s only when we try to walk ahead of Him and manage time on our own that we have problems.

When we learn to be grateful for the time we have, time becomes filled with love and blessed by joy. Instead of serving time, time is serving us.

Living calmly in the moment, mindfully aware of everything and everyone, life is beautiful and time, our dreaded enemy for so long, is now a dear and kindly friend.

Our power is in our Oneness.  Our power is not in fighting for what we think is right, but in joining together, and lifting our minds and hearts to God and letting Him decide.  God will not show us anything in the world. He will not say one Child of God is right and deserves to be healthy while another is wrong and should be punished. He will not take sides with His children.  Instead He will show us the world transformed. Transformed by kindness and compassion. Transformed by Love. He will show us our opinions are not the truth of us. Our Oneness is.

Help a friend today. Pick someone who suffers and is sad, hurting or alone. Think of someone who is afraid and wandering in darkness thinking there’s no way out. Go to that person in your mind and take their hand. Smile gently upon them and remind them of their power to be joyful and free. Lead them to a beautiful place high up that overlooks a body of clear, blue water. Sit close beside your chosen one. Take their hand and watch the sun rise over the body of water. Tell them with calm and quiet confidence, that the rays from the rising sun are but a small reflection of the light from their own wondrous spirit. Let them know that they are so beautiful and holy, whole and healed that all the world bows down to them and basks in their perfect light and is healed because of them.

Tell them there is hope and all is well. Remind them that everything they need and want in truth is theirs already. Shower them with kindness and allow a gentle breeze to blow their cares away. With absolute sincerity, want for them only happiness, abundance, peace and love and health and safety in a perfect world.  And then see that what you want with love has already happened for them.

Make them laugh. Lift their spirits to the highest heights.  Rejoice with them as you dance together upon a new earth and sing songs with melodies from heaven and lyrics that could only come from God, Himself.  Grow quiet with your friend and listen closely to the still, small voice, now loud and clear, that validates all that you are telling them.

Give your friend a final hug. Look lovingly upon the smiling faces reflected in the water’s stillness and see the truth. You are healing two dear friends and the second one is you.

As you help another, you help yourself and as you help yourself, you help the world.

Time collapses in the face of true forgiveness. Every time a true loving thought comes to the mind of a child of God years of suffering is transcended. It is so important to be aware of how powerful our thoughts are. We are, after all, creations of a Divine Being who has given us everything we need to be at peace. We can deny the existence of our higher selves and refuse to believe there is something more than what we are able to experience with our limited earthly senses, but we cannot prevent the truth from being true.

We can choose to see ourselves as separate bodies with a multitude of perceptions and beliefs, complex, thickly layered and multi leveled, so hidden by clouds of confusion and doubt that we can no longer see the simplicity of our true being. But still the core of our Oneness exists within us and is real, unchanging and eternal. And for this we must be grateful.

Let us lay our suffering, our challenging experiences and all our pain and fear at God’s feet so He can transform them into miracles of healing.  Let us breathe in this quiet moment with no words, only confidence and trust that He Who knows all will free us from a life where true joy appears to be an intermittent promise of possibility and fear seems to be entrenched.

Fear and suffering and pain form a thin layer on the surface of the deep ocean of our consciousness.  Though our fear and suffering may appear deep seated, in reality they are only shadows covering our holy joyous light. In the face of God’s Love, fear is nothing. We keep our fears believing they are our reality. If we look at them, smile gently and release them, we will see them disappear into the light of God’s pure, constant and eternal Love. Darkness disappears in Light.

“You either live as if everything is a miracle or nothing is a miracle.” Albert Einstein

And a miracle is that the choice is ours. What does it mean to live as if everything is a miracle?

We don’t know for sure except that when we are living our best, miraculous lives, somehow no matter what is going on we sense that it is all right and good will come from this. There is always a light at the end of the tunnel. It’s not just a cliche. Let’s keep our focus on that light until our tunnel vision fades and all we see is Light. This is possible and in fact it is impossible for us to not be hopeful. We were created from light and so the tunnel is only us limiting ourselves and cramming our experience into a tiny, dark place where we do not belong.

A miracle, then, is how we choose to see a thing. If we choose to see the world as hopeless and to judge and criticize ourselves or our brothers and sisters or to feel lost, lonely and alone riddled with guilt and pain, the Universe won’t stop us. God won’t understand why we are doing this to ourselves, but if it’s what turns our crank then He must allow it. It’s called free will. 

God created us free.  It is we who chose to bind ourselves to limitations and misperceptions.

As long as we have free will anyway, why not decide to really free our will? Let’s give it to God and choose happiness. Think, “God’s will is mine.” This is the truth. God only wants us to be happy and deep inside so do we. Everyone does without exception. Happiness is our true nature. When we’re unhappy, we really are going against our own will. Does that make sense?

So let’s listen to Albert Einstein today and live as if everything is a miracle. Because God says that everything is.

Like moonlight on a silver sea and watery ripples from the touch of a sea gull’s wing, God’s waves of Love cannot be stopped, but only allowed. Allowed to heal; allowed to fill our being to overflowing and then be shared with all. Now, are we made clean and pure and well. Pain is no more and only Love remains. All we need do is simply be still, look and be aware of another, happier world within us that is our true experience.

We can splash in the silver sea with joyous hearts knowing that no matter what has happened in our lives, if we quietly watch and wait and trust only good will come from it.  In our quiet trust, we will feel God take our hand and guide us in what to do and say. He will show us where we need to be for our greater good. In truth there is no Love or Will but God’s and His is the Hand that will always steer us right. We are but a drop in the ocean of God’s deep, abiding Love.   And we are free to love!

“I will breathe and trust. I will not doubt God today.”

Fear blinds us to joy.  Sometimes we cannot lift the blinders because they are too heavy. That is when we must stop fighting like a child trying to escape a nightmare. Just breathe quietly and pray, “God I can’t free myself.  Please help me.”

Grow quiet, breathe in and out and allow the pain to move on through, remembering it isn’t real.  No matter how real it feels; no matter how it wracks our bodies and blinds our vision, still it isn’t real. It isn’t real because it doesn’t come from God. Because it isn’t real, it WILL pass. It always does. What we give to God cannot harm us. Knowing these heavy, dark feelings cannot hurt us, we can now see them as amazing opportunities and as powerful gifts as we let God gently move us through them.  Do not doubt this, for it is true. In the darkest darkness there is always Light quietly waiting to shine.

It is in our darkest moments that we can most powerfully learn

… to be patient with ourselves, 

… to be gentle with ourselves, 

… to be kind to ourselves, 

… to be compassionate with ourselves,

… to be forgiving of ourselves.

…to trust in God.

Meditation can be complicated or it can be simple. It can happen in many forms or in a form that you choose. They say that praying is talking to God and meditation is listening. We here in the western world spend far more time talking than listening, not only to God, but to each other and ourselves.  

Let’s practice smiling meditation as we go about our day. It doesn’t need to be obvious or a big deal. Just a gentle relaxing of our face and a small curving upward of our lips,  a quiet shining from our eyes. A smile is a sweet surrender and a prelude to forgiveness . We can practice as we work, as we work out, as we play, as we watch TV, as we grocery shop. Our smile is a simple act of random kindness that we can share with everyone we meet.

Smile. And let go. Smile. And allow. Smile. And be.
Smile with your face and with your mind.

“The light has come. I am healed …”  A Course In Miracles

“I choose to see myself as healed today.”

What if God came to us in a vision and said, “Beloved Child, you are healed.”  Would we believe Him?  Would we be able to see beyond what we are feeling and beyond what we think we are experiencing and say, “Wow! Thanks, God.” or even “God, I can’t see it, but if You say so, it must be true.”  Or would we say, “God you must be crazy.  Look at me.  I’m a mess.”

Well, God is constantly telling us we’re healed.  We’re okay.  We never left His Heaven.

“The light has come. You are healed and you can heal.” A Course In Miracles

So now we can decide this moment whether we believe Him or not.  Actually, He doesn’t expect us to believe Him, but He does expect us to want to believe.  Our little willingness opens up a channel for His Love to flow through. It is in His Love we will experience moments of pure joy, peace, love and light. It is in those moments we can “see”, He is absolutely right. We are healed. And “When I am healed I am not healed alone.” A Course In Miracles.

When we are healed, we extend that healing to all the world. Let our prayer be, “I want to see that I am healed.”

Whenever we are tempted to believe that we are less than we are, let us choose to see things differently.  God does not join with bodies, frail and at the mercy of the world and other bodies. And yet He is there with us whenever we are tempted to believe that we are a victim in any form. Whenever we are tempted to believe we are a body and nothing more.

God takes our illnesses and disasters, our painful relationships and losses, our mistaken thoughts and acts and shines His Light upon them and says to us, “See, these things are not you. “

God did not cause our painful experiences, but instead He lifts all our burdens from us and shows us another way to see them. Now they are but stepping stones to a Higher Being and a Lighter way of Living and an opportunity for miracles of joining and of healing.  Let’s not stay in our fear place, but ask God for help and He is there.

“I am willing to sacrifice fear for Love today.”

In this world, sacrifice sounds like something we don’t want. Something difficult and painful and unfair.  And then we speak of sacrificing sugar, chocolate, social media, cell phones, games, television and other things we are attached to that seem to be important in our lives.  Maybe it’s time to acknowledge their unimportance and ask for help to remember Who we are instead.

And then what if we sacrificed

Judgment
Sickness
Fear
Pain
Sadness
Anger
Scarcity

And we allowed these things to be replaced with

Forgiveness
Health
Love
Healing
Joy
Calm
Abundance

When we willingly let go of all ideas of sacrifice we open our lives to the riches of miracles beyond our comprehension.  We often cling to those things we do not want thinking sacrifice is asked of us by God. Let’s choose thoughts of Love instead of sacrifice so we can finally see sacrifice is not God’s will at all.  Then we will finally be free.

“I will spend this day relentlessly choosing Truth.”

Together, let’s trust that there is a Higher
Being that lives within us and loves us beyond words. 

Let’s trust that our purpose and our function
is happiness and nothing else. And if we can’t believe or trust in this
yet, let’s decide it doesn’t matter. God, Who carries us and our own true Self
cannot be disturbed by something as trivial as disbelief. For the truth of our
existence comes from the Love and the Heart of God’s own Divine Plan. The Plan
was set in motion long ago and nothing so small as fear or doubt can stop the
Truth. 

Truth is  relentless, constant and eternal.  Our limited thoughts and lack of understanding, may cause us to fear or doubt that this is so.  We may fight it or try to hide from it, misunderstanding and believing that the Truth will somehow hurt us. But we can never be truly free from That which frees us.

We must thank God that no matter how relentlessly we try to harm ourselves and our world, we will never be truly successful because God’s relentless Truth which comes from Love is much more
powerful than Fear.  

Love’s Truth will prevail.  

It is written in the stars.

It is inscribed upon the moon.

It shines through each ray of sunlight.

It glistens in each raindrop.

It breathes in every flower.

The Truth lives inside our heart.

Relentlessly it heals and heals and heals …

“I will smile with my heart today and rest in God.”

There are schools of thought that believe that all healing is held in a single smile. Could this be true? Could the simple act of smiling make the world a better place?  And rest and healing for our mind and heart? What if, instead of frowning at someone or something that we perceived as disturbing or disruptive today, we gently smiled?

What if when we wanted to make a situation better and we couldn’t think of the words, we just quietly smiled?  What if we wanted to convey something beautiful and loving to someone and the right thoughts to express this eluded us and so we softened our eyes and smiled into theirs? What if we looked in the mirror and saw the hurt and sadness in our own eyes and we turned that around by giving ourselves a confident and loving smile? What if we felt the restlessness in our spirit and the world and we smiled gently and asked for rest today for everyone.

Our smile …

…lifts hearts and heals minds,

…brings comfort and calm reassurance.  

…can help heal our relationships.

…promotes healthy bodies.

…sends ripples of loving energy to the giver and the receiver. 

…conveys kindness, gentleness and forgiveness.

…radiates joy and love through us and into the world

…and brings rest to every mind and heart.

A smile is perhaps the simplest and most powerful form of communication. It dissolves language barriers because it is a sign of peace and friendship everywhere. A single smile holds within it the promise and the power of the Divine Universe.  So today, let’s do something wonderful for ourselves and all the world . Let’s open our heart, clear the clutter from our mind and quietly smile, smile, smile.

Breathe and rest and smile.

Just as the pain of a single toe affects the whole body, the pain of one brother or sister affects all of humankind. We are connected at our core. Like the fabric of a single scarf is the combination of each stitch, we are interwoven. If we try to cut one stitch away, it will leave a hole that will grow larger and weaken the entire scarf.

To understand our Oneness requires looking at the bigger picture. Even though our vision is limited to only what we can see in our small worlds we need to trust that our thoughts affect everyone. To think lovingly exudes loving energy into the world. To think fearfully projects fear onto the earth. Whether we believe it or not, our power to heal and be healed is far reaching and ripples through time and space and through the minds of all our brothers and sisters.

It’s important to understand that a judgmental, harsh or hostile word or thought is not harmless. This is true because God gave us the power of our thoughts. This gift from Him was intended to be used for a loving and creative purpose. When we first chose to use it for something else, we began to misuse our power. And since thoughts do not leave their source and since the world is designed to be affected by cause and effect, the one we hurt the most when we forget to be kind and tolerant and loving is ourselves.

We must love ourselves before we can truly love others. Therein lies the remedy for true happiness. See the light in you and you will see the light in all the world. And then react accordingly … with a smile of relief and a laugh of pure joy. We are now using our Power from God as He intended. And with our powerful new thoughts and words, we are at last, pain free!

God is the light in which I see.”  A Course In Miracles

“I will spend this day seeing only God’s Light in everything.”

Let’s thank God for all our blessings. Let’s  thank Him, for our peace of mind, our holy Truth. Let’s thank Him, knowing that our peace has nothing to do with this world, but only lives within each one of us, a silent, constant and eternal light unchanged by anything that happens or doesn’t happen here.

Let’s thank God for our challenges as we gratefully use them as stepping stones to our healing through forgiveness. We thank Him for showing us how His Love manifests in the world for everyone through happiness and health, through abundance and safety, through peace everywhere. 

Today we say thank you as we see and experience only miracles of light and joy for all. 

Together, let’s pray, “Thank you, God, for guiding me in each step I take toward all inclusive Love.

Thank you for helping me to guide others there as well.  Thank you for everything loving in my life and thank you for making all my lessons gentle, light of weight and quickly learned. Thank you for showing me that forgiveness is the key to happiness. Thank you, God, for everything.” 

Then let’s hear Him say quietly and gently to our very being, “You’re welcome, darling Child of My Heart.  I missed you and I’m so glad you’re Home.  Did you see I left the Light on?”
