Sending Joy

 “I will be mindful of this moment and let everything else be released.”

In this moment there is all of life. The past is released, the future surrendered and this moment is all there is. It isn’t necessary to know specifically what we cling to in the past, what shadows we danced with, what tears we cried, what sad songs we sang, what pain we suffered.  All that’s necessary is to know that all is forgiven and suffering is done.

“Release your mind and you will look upon a world released.” A Course In Miracles

In this moment we are free to let the past go like a silk scarf in the wind and celebrate our light.  What the future holds is also unimportant for we can change that by simply choosing to be happy now.  No one and nothing has the power to disturb our peace.

Peace doesn’t come from bodies or egos. Nor can our peace be disrupted by bodies or egos. Peace comes from God.  And the choice to experience peace comes from us.  Not from anything outside of us, but from God Who dwells within.  Accept this and let everything else go and peace will be ours.

“I will leave fear behind today and walk in gentle peace.”

Leaving fear behind is a journey and takes patience, determination and perseverance. We can practice this daily and moment by moment, by simply looking straight at what disturbs our peace, and with a gentle, knowing smile, understand that the Universe has something better in mind for us than this.

May we walk gently and in peace this day knowing that we are blessed and we can bless.We are healed and we can heal.

 Let us be an instrument of calm today, a channel for peace. We can’t heal the insanity, but we can give it to the One Who can.

Let God’s Miracles bring a calm and quiet healing upon the earth.

”Into God’s Presence would I enter now.” A Course In Miracles

Be in the Now. 

Live in the Now. 

Dance and sing joyfully Now. 

Rejoice and celebrate Now.

Let your laughter ring out Now. 

And let all else go.

Not a moment ago, or a moment from now, but NOW. And then NOW and NOW again.  Practice this with gentle breathing and a soft smile, a quiet laugh. Repeat “God is the Love with which I experience this moment.” And watch your LIFE begin.

If you feel your peace disturbed by someone or something outside of you, quietly understand that you are simply judging someone or something apart from God.  Then simply grow still and ask for help to be released from this disturbance and let harmony and balance fill you.

Ask for guidance as to how to remove yourself from this place that challenges you and listen quietly for the answers. Watch carefully for miracles of love and healing to lead you on a new path which takes you gently away from fear and into Light.  And trust that in God, all is well.  All is well NOW.

That distorts my true seeing.

Whenever we’re not at peace, we are seeing through mistaken eyes

“Let every voice but God’s be still in me.” A Course In Miracles

“I will remember that I am so much more than my fearful thoughts.”

The sound of a drop of rain upon a blade of grass is louder than the sound of a breaking heart.

A heart breaks silently and is often not recognized through the noise and distractions it hides behind. Activities of every kind can mask the breaking heart. It is well preserved behind blasts of rage and sobs of sadness and even screams of terror. It burrows beneath addictions and violent behavior. Few understand that all this chaos and craziness are signs of a wounded spirit and a frightened child crying out for the love that it is missing. The past has rushed forth to wreak havoc in the present and to cause alarm about the future.

To cover up our pain and fear, we judge the judgments, defend ourselves against attack and bury our heads under the blankets to protect ourselves from our own dark unseen places. We bully the bully and defend or attack the defenseless. But we never smile gently at the suffering soul and say kindly to ourselves and others, “You are so much more than all of this.”

All this acting out is but a refusal to recognize the breaking heart. All this being right at all costs while projecting blame upon the world outside is but a mask to cover our real need to be happy even when happiness seems impossible.

We find it too painful to look inside and see that the breaking heart is really a breaking open to a new identity, another way of seeing. It is a crack in the armor of our defenses allowing a sliver of light to shine through; a ray of hope for something better just over the horizon. So instead of quietly looking at the darkness that we feel threatens our existence we frantically try to fix things. We want to fix ourselves and everyone else thinking this is the solution for a better life. Without all this fixing what would be our purpose here? We don’t see the dishonesty in this way of thinking. We can’t see that true honesty is aligning our thoughts with our behavior. Our true thoughts always come from Love because that is God’s will for us. Love is a state of Being not of doing. And we must leave the fixing to the One Who can fix everything.

Truth is choosing happiness at the same time that we stop judging the world. It’s allowing our heart to break and accepting the pain knowing that it’s only temporary and part of the process of our healing. It’s giving up the past and being present to this moment with kindness and compassion and with trust in a Power greater than our small, suffering self.

It’s turning our face to God’s Light and praying, “Show me how my fellow human is not my enemy or even my business.” It’s accepting God’s will for us and for everyone knowing that God will lead us to where we need to be. He will tell us all we need to know if only we will listen.

God will harness our racing thoughts and give us the words to speak. We no longer have to try and fix the world from the vantage point of a breaking heart and a vision so narrow that nothing we do or say without Him is truly helpful to anyone. At last we can admit that we really don’t know anything and that’s okay because there is a Divine Power that knows all about all. God in His infinite wisdom will guide us in how to be most helpful if we allow Him.

Now we can feel the broken heart healing bit by bit, moment by moment, shard by shard. The darkness grows dimmer and the light grows brighter. The fear weakens and the joy strengthens. We see that it is a great relief to lay the world’s healing at God’s feet.

With the screams of terror, the blasts of rage and the sobs of sadness all silenced by God’s healing Love, we can actually hear a drop of rain or a weightless snowflake land softly upon a blade of grass. And what a lovely sound it makes.

“Let miracles replace all grievances.” A Course In Miracles

“I will let grievances be transformed into miracles of unity and peace today.”  

What if the problem is that we think we are many? And the solution is remembering that we are One? Let’s say the real problem is we believe we are separate from God and from each other. And the solution is that we forgive that thought and choose to remember we are One.  What would happen?  Only one thing can happen.  The idea of separation would collapse and be transformed into our Truth of Holy Oneness.

What if there was only one problem?  And one solution?  Let’s say the problem is that we are holding onto a grievance.  And the solution is that we have decided to let it go.  What would happen?  Only one thing can happen. The grievance would collapse and be transformed into a miracle.

What does this mean?  It means that every grievance is a separation thought no matter in what form it comes to us. Every grievance and every separation thought can be seen as a lesson; an opportunity for healing.  Healing of our thinking through our forgiveness is the only true healing.  Now we no longer see the grievance or the separation, but only our oneness in God. In that moment we have experienced a true healing.  Any healing that happens at the level of the spirit mind is permanent. This doesn’t mean we won’t cherish other grievances or even bring this one up again, but it does mean that the solution has happened; the problem has been solved.  It is our choice whether we recognize and accept this or not.  It is our choice whether we want to live in our healed mind or in our grievances and separation thinking.

In True Forgiveness, nothing can disturb our peace and all that we draw to us is joy and loving miracles. We are no longer a victim, but a powerful Child of a Loving God who is at peace and brings peace with us wherever we go. Now we are able to allow Him to walk before us and correct every problem we may think we have. Forgiveness is our path to perfect peace. The problem is we believe we are separate. The answer is WE are not.

FORGIVENESS, TRUST, GRATITUDE AND LOVE (The 4 laws for peace)

“Love is the way I walk in gratitude.”  A Course In Miracles

“I will smile with gratitude upon everyone and everything today.”

It is the ending of the harvest season and Thanksgiving is coming closer. This is the perfect time to remember to practice gratitude. Not just gratitude for things, but also let’s be grateful for our true blessings, beginning with our own miraculous selves. 

Let us be grateful for forgiveness; forgiveness in the sense that we own nothing that happens here, but instead every experience belongs to God. Forgiveness is as simple as letting go and letting God. Forgiveness is placing our trust in Him while we rest in the understanding that God’s Laws are now governing our lives. Forgiveness is the key to happiness and the result of trust. 

So now we are grateful for trust. Without trust our experience here is uncertain and fearful. Without trust we are as small children being thrown from a cliff every day. Are we or our loved ones going to get sick?  And what if we are sick already? What do we do with that? Are we going to lose our jobs? Or if we’ve lost our jobs, where do we go from here? What do we do about an abusive or unhappy relationship? Is the world going to come crashing to a violent end? Are our children in danger? How can we live with this uncertainty a moment longer? Why should we? The answer is TRUST. 

Now no matter how uncertain and scary it looks and feels, we are assured that there is a world beyond this world where all is being taken care of for us. This world is right here, right now. This place is as near as our hearts. It is our Home in God. Trust is a difficult thing for most of us, but we can at least be willing to trust. God takes our little willingness and lovingly uses it for His healing purpose. 

Being grateful for love seems logical even to our limited earthly self. After all Love is the answer. Love unlocks hearts and brings people together. Love, infinite and eternal, is how we were created and that makes us living, breathing miracles. The love that comes from God doesn’t know gender, ethnicity, physical circumstances, political or religious differences. Love from God just IS. And from this amazing Love comes peace.

Let’s rest for a moment in that thought and gratefully allow our hearts to fill with peace.  Breathe it in and then let it spill out into the world.  Again.  Again. See this peace as a gentle breeze that touches everything and everyone as it flows out into the atmosphere. It rests on every man, woman and child and gently caresses them, quiets their thoughts and calms their hearts. It touches every animal and plant and is our key to transformation. Peace is our true essence and God’s gift to His beloved children should we choose to accept it. Let’s gratefully accept the peace of our true existence, our real purpose and God’s loving gift to us.  Remember, forgiveness, trust, gratitude and love all bring us peace.

Now, we must be grateful for gratitude for it is our gratitude that flings open the windows and doors to our inner world. This is the world where we are one with God and with each other. This is the world that is our true home and the place from which we will begin to heal and the world with us. God heals, but we must allow. Gratitude opens our hearts and allows Him in so He can do His healing work for us and through us.

In gratitude we walk the earth today.

“When truth has come it harbors in its wings the gift of perfect constancy, and love which does not falter in the face of pain, but looks beyond it, steadily and sure. Here is the gift of healing …” A Course In Miracles

Go inside your mind and see a tree, glorious and tall, its branches raised majestically, its trunk spanning the world. This tree has no leaves and yet it is full and beautifully abundant with not a bare spot to be seen. It cannot perish or change its hues which already are all the colors of the Universe.  Nor can what grows upon it ever be diminished or forgotten.

Go closer and lean your weight against it. Rest in its shade. Look up into its branches and see what fills them.  Do you recognize its fruit?  They are all the miracles, large and small, that belong to you.  See them fastened to the tree like lovely ornaments polished to a perfect sheen.

Every loving thought you’ve ever had is hanging there, blessed and saved for all eternity. There are your miracles of kind acts preserved for you in holy purity. The branches of the tree bear all the memories of each time your heart was opened to another, as are all the times your eyes have seen the truth of someone else; the innocence within their soul. As well, your gentleness and grace and every tear you’ve wiped from someone’s face or shed in loving sympathy for them. Every child you’ve ever held and every hand you’ve ever clasped as you helped a brother or a sister up and back upon their path. Every time you have forgiven yourself or someone else is a light upon the tree. Each time you trusted God instead of fear is a gift that He holds dear and keeps in place for you within the branches of this tree.

Every time you celebrated life instead of death is suspended there. Also every dark and painful moment you chose another way, opening your mind to embrace the holy healing of happy joy and laughter. Every prayer you’ve ever prayed where you put God’s will ahead of yours and every time that you grew still on His behalf are all firmly on the tree.

No matter what mistakes you make they are nothing in the face of all your miracles held fast upon God’s Tree of Truth where they will stay forever, shining their holy, healing light upon the earth. These words cannot convey how precious are your miracles that God has saved for you.  And when the time should come that you look back upon your life, be sure that these and only these are all that you and He will see.

“We go to God, and the path is straight. Only if we attempt to wander can there be delay, and needless wasted time on thorny byways.” A Course In Miracles

We often choose the wrong way because the right way looks wrong to us. It’s not until we have made our choice and seen our mistake that we choose again. Or just as often, we keep on the wrong path trying to force and manipulate it into being the right path. This is exhausting and never works.

Sometimes things don’t work out simply because it’s the wrong place or the wrong person or the wrong time. We can struggle to do what we believe is right for us our entire life and be tired and unfulfilled and confused at the end of it. Or we can just learn whatever we can learn from each experience and then move on. To the ego giving up is a sign of weakness. To God giving up is powerful and honorable and loving. This surrendering is called Forgiveness. It means that we are no longer trusting in our weakness, but in God’s strength. Giving up is not giving in. Many times giving up does not require change in our life, but only change in our thinking. Our life may change or it may not, but certainly our experience of our life will change and for the better.

As we travel the path of most resistance we ask God for help but He doesn’t seem to hear us. We believe this is our path, why isn’t it working? Everyone and everything is blocking our way. If we sincerely want to know the answer, we will hear it. It will come to us as a gentle whisper, a knowing nudge, “It’s not everyone who is mistaken, Dear Heart. It is you. Here is your path. Take my hand and step here.”

And there before us, clearly lit, is our very own path. Smiling faces greet us and welcoming hands reach out to help us. As soon as we are open and ready the struggle ends. The struggle ends because we have stopped fighting to keep what does not belong to us. There may be struggles in other areas where we are still learning, but never when we are where we need to be. If we follow the signs of our true calling with an open mind and willing heart, life just gets simpler. Peace comes more readily with God as our Guide.

This doesn’t mean we won’t have to work on our path. It doesn’t mean there won’t be challenges. We mustn’t confuse struggle with work or challenge. Struggle is stressful. It’s a useless battle we fight with ourselves. Challenge is strengthening and leads us to the next opportunity for our learning and our growing. Whoever needs us will be brought to us and whoever and whatever we need will be brought to us as well.

Now when we come up against road blocks we ask for help instead of bull dozing through them on our own. It means we grow quiet and smile and breathe as we surrender the blocks so they can either be removed or transformed as we continue to be led on our very own path.

“My heart surrenders and forgives all things today.”

Forgiveness is the opposite of judgment. Forgiveness means surrendering everything to God. Forgiveness is living in the light, breathing in the beauty of the world and allowing our blessings to flow and flow and flow. It’s not about condoning, it’s about compassion.

It’s about letting go of the past and living fully in each moment. It’s about praying, “God, I don’t know what this is all about so I give it to you for Your Holy Understanding.” We mustn’t be afraid to let go of all we think we need to cling to here. Clinging to our past thinking is what causes all our pain. Letting go frees us to fly.

To protect ourselves, we grasp onto our fears and judgments with tight fists. We are terrified that letting them go will be the cause of our destruction. We will not be punished for surrendering our fears and judgments. Instead, we will be rewarded with joyful and amazing experiences filled with miracles. The only true justice is God’s justice and it is nothing like our own for it comes from pure Love and nothing else.

Let’s remember our protection is in God, not in ourselves. As a Child of His Light, we are so far above our petty thinking that it is inconceivable that we should allow one unkind or unloving thought to keep us imprisoned in pain a moment longer.

If we understood who we really are, we would gladly let all the nonsense go and fall to our knees with tears of gratitude. His light would wash away all darkness, pain and suffering caused by our tight fisted attachment to our silly judgments of ourselves and others. We think we know everything, when actually we know nothing. All that is asked of us is a tiny willingness to let go of what we do not know and do not want or need while we walk with Him in happy peace and in calm and quiet confidence.

God holds you gently in the night and shows you how to laugh at darkness in the day.

Wrapped only in the Loving Light of God, sip the sweetness of the gift of life. Lift your arms and leap with joy and laugh out loud. A world that laughs is not friends with fear. In fact it doesn’t even know that thought. Now are you aware that all you believed was true was just a crazy dream. See yourself awaken knowing that your peace, your happiness, your truth are still inside you as they’ve always been. Rejoice and lead the others into the light as well. Let your loving laughter be the only sound they hear. Turn and watch with wonder to see their pain-filled faces transform into smiles of happy joy, their shining eyes on you. Feel their hearts joined with yours in delightful celebration of a whole new way of seeing and of being.

The pain, the darkness and the fear are gone. And then you ask, what’s that lovely sound? Why of course. You recognize it now. It’s the world laughing.

What if we used time for its intended purpose which is to forgive, to heal and promote peace?  If we forgot about the clocks and the calendars and let God lead us in His own Time, would we see the world differently? Is it possible that if we surrendered time to Him we would somehow never be too early or too late? What we are seeking in the future and all that we regret from the past may be nothing more than an illusion. A time piece of our own making that fades from our sight as we choose to experience only this moment, this Holy moment.

Now is the time. 
Here is the place.
Here and now is where Heaven lives.

With this understanding we must smile gratefully and say a simple thank you.  And then our path to peace will open up before us and time will no longer be our enemy, but our holy tool for healing.

Let’s think of ourselves as an onion. Layers and layers of experience, feelings, desires, hopes and fears. All the things that make us, us are in that onion. We are complex. We are unique. We are special. We have moments of joy mingled with pain. Moments of sunlight darkened by storms.

I wonder if we took the time to count, which would be more prevalent, the sunlight or the storms? Do we want to know? And why do we think it’s a good thing to be special, unique and complex? Have we ever asked ourselves that question? What is so special about being special?

What if being special means our happiness must be touched by suffering? What if being special means our light must be darkened by fear? What if being special means our joy must be mingled with pain? Our peace dimmed by doubt? What if being special means that no matter what we do or what we have that is unique from others, it can’t make us happy? Would we still want it?

“The peace of God is my one goal.” A Course In Miracles

Shall we peel that onion now, layer by layer and see what’s at the core? Strip away the pain. Strip away the sadness. Strip away the anger. Strip away the sickness and suffering. Strip away the fear in every form imaginable. And now we’ve reached the core, the very center of our being. That place where we aren’t so different from each other, but only One. What is left?

Love. Only Love is left.

“I will be kind to everyone today.”

Everywhere we look, are opportunities for acts of kindness, both small and large. It can be as tiny as a smile for a stranger or as large as a monthly gift to a child in a third world country. It can be calling our mother or standing in front of Congress for a cause that we
believe in. It can be rescuing a puppy or traveling to another country to save
the orangutans. It can be blessing the person who cuts us off in traffic or
going on TV to talk about preserving the rain forests. It can be a meal for
someone without a home or campaigning for ending attack and war on each other
in every form.

Whether large or small, our acts of kindness hold equal power in God’s eyes for the healing of our hearts and the healing of the world.  They originate from His Love and then they share His Love with others.

Every kind thought and act opens our hearts and gets us out of our fear thinking and into our love thinking. In kindness we align with our true presence, our true purpose and with our Child of God essence. It is not so much the act or the thought, as the Love behind it that will make the world a better place.  And no matter what the nature of the kindness,
the Love behind it is always at full God Power.

Today let’s spread kindness and get a glimpse of Heaven.

“I will walk and see and be in gratitude today.”

In music and in poetry and art are we connected. In work and play we can recognize our holiness. In silence and in trust we shine our love upon the world and heal us all. Everything seen through a lens of kindness and compassion and forgiveness will show us our oneness clearly. In quiet and in listening, not just to words, but to hearts as well, do we know each other’s truth.

Let us join together in gratitude as we dance a joyous step and raise our voices in songs of praise to God and to each other. In this way, we will see us in our light, a thing of beauty, holy, whole and innocent.

Hand in hand and heart to heart, we walk through a garden of glorious color surrounded by heavenly scents and sounds. The smiles on our faces lift us up and fill us to overflowing with peace and joy and perfect health and God’s abundance. Now we know that God is real and the rest is just a dream.

The truth is God is Love and God is All there is. Love is the way we walk in gratitude and our gratitude has changed our life.
