“I am willing to fly today.”

Why crawl with caterpillars when we can soar as butterflies?  It is necessary to be a caterpillar and a cocoon before we can be a butterfly. It’s all part of the learning, growing process. But sometimes, out of fear, we stay in the caterpillar and cocoon stage much longer than we should. How long must we trap ourselves in a cocoon? When it becomes painful, that may be our sign that it is time to learn to fly.  

What if we breathe into that feeling of being trapped and constricted and frustrated and envision something else? Freedom. Not just freedom of the body, but freedom of the mind and heart.  Now, we are allowing a new and holy vision of ourselves. This vision leads beyond caterpillars and beyond cocoons.

Let’s let our minds grow still and our hearts become calm as we smile at the beauty of this new experience in this moment, on this higher plane. Now let’s come back to earth, look around us with new eyes and see, not a small creature that crawls, nor one stuck in a cocoon of fear and doubt, but a beautiful and wondrous creation who is capable of flying to greater heights than we ever knew.

In experiences we may all be at the caterpillar stage or the cocoon stage or the butterfly stage at different times and then go back and forth again and again.  It isn’t our job to judge the different stages of our brothers’ and sisters’ learning, growing process or even our own.  Our true job is to be a light in the world, an example of kindness and forgiveness, an instrument of peace. And one day we will look up and the sky will be amassed with beautiful winged creatures. And we will be among them.

“My heart surrenders and forgives all things today.”

Forgiveness is the opposite of judgment. Forgiveness means surrendering everything to God. Forgiveness is living in the light, breathing in the beauty of the world and allowing our blessings to flow and flow and flow. It’s not about condoning, it’s about compassion.

It’s about letting go of the past and living fully in each moment. It’s about praying, “God, I don’t know what this is all about so I give it to you for Your Holy Understanding.” We mustn’t be afraid to let go of all we think we need to cling to here. Clinging to our past thinking is what causes all our pain. Letting go frees us to fly.

To protect ourselves, we grasp onto our fears and judgments with tight fists. We are terrified that letting them go will be the cause of our destruction. We will not be punished for surrendering our fears and judgments. Instead, we will be rewarded with joyful and amazing experiences filled with miracles. The only true justice is God’s justice and it is nothing like our own for it comes from pure Love and nothing else.

Let’s remember our protection is in God, not in ourselves. As a Child of His Light, we are so far above our petty thinking that it is inconceivable that we should allow one unkind or unloving thought to keep us imprisoned in pain a moment longer.

If we understood who we really are, we would gladly let all the nonsense go and fall to our knees with tears of gratitude. His light would wash away all darkness, pain and suffering caused by our tight fisted attachment to our silly judgments of ourselves and others. We think we know everything, when actually we know nothing. All that is asked of us is a tiny willingness to let go of what we do not know and do not want or think we need while we walk with Him in happy peace and in calm and quiet confidence.

We are not our bodies, we are spirit. But we have a responsibility to love and care for our bodies. Our bodies are here to serve a purpose in helping make the world a better place and our lives easier if we allow it. We must enjoy our body and value it, not for its size or shape or gender, but for its true design. 

Our smiles can express kindness and love.
Our voices can speak for those who can’t.
Our eyes can radiate joy.
Our hands can offer help and hope.
Our arms can hug a child or a frightened friend.
Our feet can take us wherever we are needed.

Our hearts and minds can be open to great possibilities for joy and love. 

We should eat with healthy enjoyment. We should exercise until it feels good. We should play with delight and laugh freely. We should speak gently, breathe deeply and think lightly. We should work with purpose and a sense of fun. We should take the time to smell the sweet alyssum, breathe in the beauty and feel the textures of life. When we use our bodies in this way, we will always be beautiful.

May your body carry you wherever God wants you today.

To truly see yourself, don’t look in the mirror, look inside your heart. Don’t measure yourself by the opinions and judgments of others. Measure yourself by God’s Grace and His Light in you. That is where your beauty lies; where your kindness, your empathy and your generosity abide. This is where your voice sings arias to the Angels and you are able, in calm and quiet peace, to listen to the silence of God’s own Heart speaking constantly of your holiness.

You are an artist of the spirit, a poet of the soul, a creation of delight and joy, at one with all the Universe. Inside you Love lives, a constant flame to be fanned by trust and shared with all. And it is there that healing is always happening.

Look and laugh and rejoice at your true nature, your real Self and see your Truth. If you find your vision blocked by fear, anger, sadness, anxiety, worry … LOOK AGAIN!  And choose another way of seeing. Remember, we see what we invite or allow in to our space. So invite in Truth and be grateful for your sweet essence and your holy presence.  The truth will set you free.

Now you are an instrument of peace and a teacher of God.  Now you are serving your purpose as a healer of the world.

If we think of God as the Employer and ourselves as the employee and the product as Happiness, then unless we manufacture Happiness in its highest sense, we are not doing our job. It’s time to set aside our small aspirations involving grievances, sadness and anger, judgment and guilt or worldly things and earthly power and ask God what the real goal is.

God’s Office is always open. His Plan is the only One that will serve the world and provide the Holy Health Care, the perfect Child Care, the amazing Salary and all the Abundance and Benefits that Heaven can offer.  All we need do is agree to His Terms and choose Happiness as the product we want to invest in. Happiness will make us rich in every way.

We are not meant to serve in our own self designed cubicles. We are meant to serve in limitless and eternal joy. Let’s quietly close the door on our belief in failure from the past and open the window of opportunity in this moment. As we make the conscious choice to make happiness our real job, the world will change before our eyes.  Now, we will live and work in a happy place created from our own thoughts. And our real Boss will provide Bonuses that will delight us. We will be amazed at how easy it is to create Happiness. And how quickly sharing it with others will magnify and increase it for ourselves.

Let’s open our minds to a new way of thinking, a new way of being. Let’s allow the feeling of the breezes of enlightenment to blow away all that keeps us stuck; stuck in fear, stuck in anger, stuck in sickness, stuck in pain and sadness.

There is a gentle tap on our shoulder, a soft kiss upon our cheek as we are gently awakened from our long dreams of separation; separation from our own truth, separation from our brothers and sisters and separation from God. All we had forgotten is remembered now.

God is Love and God is all there is.

Tendrils of tenderness wind themselves around our heart and the world is changed because of our remembering. Instead of judging ourselves and others harshly, now we only want to hold each other close and comfort our self and everyone with these loving words, “It was just a dream, Dear Heart. It’s all over and we are now awake. Awake to live and breathe and walk in the light of our own truth.”

Miracles are raining all around us and we lift our faces to receive them in joyous wonder. All is beautiful as we go about our days in this new land that we know is really ancient and was created long before time began. We have had our time of lessons in the form of troubles and challenges and burdens. Now we are walking in the place that God created which is Heaven here on earth.

All because we have chosen to understand with all our heart and soul that God is only Love and God is all there is.

“Help me choose again today.”

The beauty of our power from God is that we can choose again. In every moment of every day and in every relationship and every experience we can make another choice

If we have felt fear or anger, guilt or sadness or judgment we can ask for help to see everything and everyone differently.

When we ask for help we must then be still and listen for the answers. God always has the answer and it’s always the right answer; the only answer.  His answer provides resolutions that bring peace and healing to every side.  What we can’t see, He will gladly show us.

God’s answer brings peace and joy to us and to all. His answer floods our hearts with pure love. This is the Love that guides us on our path and lights our way to fulfilling our holy destiny.

This is the Love that shows us a different world from the one we thought we knew. This Love rewrites our story giving us not just a happy ending, but a glorious beginning and middle too. This Love ensures there is no ending just a happy now.

All the answers to all our questions are in God. His Answer shows us that our questions are too small. His Answer encompasses our Holy truth and gently guides us on a path where only miracles are found.

As we take His hand and offer ourselves to Him for guidance, words dissolve, concerns are gone, darkness disappears and only Light remains. In that stillness that fills our being us, we understand what we didn’t understand before. All good things are not only possible, but are actually accomplished.

And all we need do is choose again.

Like a territorial cat who has always lived inside the four walls of a house and then finds the front door wide open, we can stick our noses out into the wider universe and begin to understand that maybe all this time we have been missing something. Something amazing and wonderful is out there if we just allow ourselves to check it out. Sure there will be lessons.  It won’t be perfect right away, but it will be a step in the right direction.

Every experience in which we are open to our higher learning through our forgiveness and our trust, is a step toward peace.  All we’re asked to do is to provide a little willingness and God will take our hand and lift us up to the highest place within us. And from that vantage point we will see clearly that we have been mistaken. There is another way to live. In time, the highest place within us becomes a little higher and a little higher and a little higher.

As our burdens and our fears are lovingly lifted from us, we will smile with relief and life will be a joy. Health and happiness, abundance and safety will be as natural as breathing.  There are many people who live this way already.  Shall we join them?

As we breathe in the beauty of this moment, we allow ourselves to be at one with God and His Divine Universe and all the earth and each sister and brother who travels their spirit’s journey alongside us. And if we can’t yet trust in that, we will simply let go and let God carry us.

Now all we thought were problems have been solved with gentleness and joy. All that we feared fades into the shadows and disappears into the nothingness from which they came. All the bad news has transformed into good news and hate is gone and only light and love remain, constant and eternal, our Holy gifts from God.

We laugh with relief at how mistaken we were and we bow our heads in gratitude as we see only God’s Laws of purest Love governing our world and guiding our thoughts.

When the ground is hard and has lost its nutrients it cannot grow perfect flowers, yet somehow weeds still grow.  It is the same with our hearts.  When our heart is hard and has lost its kindness and compassion, we lose our ability to heal. Such a heart does not grow happiness, but only weed-like thoughts that dig their roots through pain and suffering. It is only when we practice the teachings of a Loving God that we create a beautiful earth with miraculous wonders and joyful moments. This is the earth in which beautiful flowers abound.  And everyone is joyous.

Now, we can gather the beautiful flowers, cool our feet in the ocean’s waves and rest in the shade of the ancient tree. The loving thoughts that flower within us have changed our lives. We pick their counterpart from our healthy garden and put them together in a vase on our kitchen table and breathe in the heavenly scent of happiness. This is the symbol of our holiness.

As we take care of our gardens we must take care of ourselves. Water our loving thoughts. Pull out and discard our unwanted weedy thoughts. Nourish our inner kindness and our inner gentleness and our inner light. 

And if we invite in the loving kindness and holiness of others we can share and expand the beauty of our nature and rise above our fears and doubts. And share this beauty with the world. A flower is a symbol of Love and a symbol of peace; a symbol of wishing well for those who need a lift. As we are grateful for the flowers, we show that we are grateful for ourselves and all the children of God. It’s giving and giving and giving.  And in return we receive an amazing gift of healing for ourselves.

“I breathe in peace.  I breathe out healing.”

We often get so caught up with the busyness of life and the need to protect ourselves and our beliefs that we forget to allow the spaces in between. It is the space between the conversations, the activities, the plans, the politics, the TV, the computer, the tablet and the cell phone, where our true life is and where our real Self exists.  It is in the quiet moments where silence stills our thoughts and heals our heart’s pain that we belong. 

Whenever you want to enter that peaceful state that lives inside your mind and quietly waits for your awareness, simply become conscious of your breathing. Focus on your in breath and your out breath calmly and with intention. Allow your breath its natural rhythm and just watch it as a quiet observer.  Let a gentle smile form around your heart and on your face, then breathe.  Length of time is not as important as consistency.  Even a moment here and there, or once an hour or just once or twice a day is helpful.

At first we may scoff at our spiritual truth or we may feel bored with stillness and breathing. and believe that what is true is silly or insane. And we don’t hesitate to loudly disclaim what we think we don’t want. But lack of understanding and boredom are simply the ego’s ploy to keep us from our Truth. A way to keep us trapped in fear and sadness. anger, guilt and in righteous judgment. In a place in our mind where we don’t know that we don’t belong. If we could trust in God instead of the world’s insanity, what a great weight would be lifted from us.

Every mindful moment holds more value in it than all the busyness and defensiveness we feel is so important. If we could look at what we fear and be at peace with it, what would there be left to fear?

Two of our greatest challenges are to Listen and to Trust. To listen to our Truth and Trust in the Love of God. We would never know another moment’s pain if we could but be still in our minds and hearts and trust in the Truth that comes to us from listening and trusting. Listening to God and Trusting in God. Let us look at the divisiveness, fear and danger and anger in this world and ask ourselves, “Is this really what I want?” And then ask where is my judgment now? And boredom will disappear into the nothingness from which it came as it is replaced by happiness, joy, peace and love. We will no longer be fascinated by the darkness when once we have seen the LIGHT!

Kindness is the spirit’s heart wishing well for everyone. “I wish you well,” it says, “in everything you do and all you are. May your heart heal from all your past heartaches and may there be no suffering in your future.”

Kindness is a way of life, a belief system, that when chosen gives each moment the richness of God’s Love to all. To the one giving it as well as the receiver.

Walking this world with a kind heart spreads good will and shines light upon every dark corner of each mind. It blesses and transforms. And even when it seems not to be accepted or appreciated the light of kindness shines gently on. Like a star behind a cloud, it quietly waits for the cloud to move on not caring what the cloud is doing, but simply knowing there is a greater truth behind every cloud we see.

Forgiveness is the father of Kindness and Compassion is its Mother. Love is its nature. With such a family living within us we can only be what we are; blessed creations of a Divine Source, holy, whole and healed.

We can serve the ego and live a small life or we can serve God and be His gift to the world.  The choice of whom to serve lives in our mind, not the brain, but in the Spirit Mind.  When we make the choice to serve God as a teacher of His Love through gentle thoughts and acts of kindness and tolerance, then does the body have the power to be a healing tool in the world.  Without our decision to use it lovingly, the body is nothing but muscle and blood and bones, cells and organs strung together to make a form that walks the earth alone.  But use it for God’s purpose and it becomes something Holy and helpful and will bring us joy and great peace.

God sings our song.  He speaks the words we need to hear.  Now we can live in joyous oneness with Him and all His children dancing in His light and painting His pictures for our lives.

A flash of light, a shout of joy, a world laughing in pure delight. Lots of happy noise.

A quiet mind, peaceful thoughts, gentle joining in pure oneness. Lots of holy instants.

Let’s make plans today to make miracles our first and only priority, understanding that anything that comes from love is a miracle.

So hug a child, make a friend, forgive an enemy. Smile at a stranger, call a parent, fulfill a need, give some time, share with someone, love yourself.

Lend an ear, open your mind, be compassionate, offer a kindness. Listen to your heart, listen to the hearts of others, smile with your eyes.

Heal a rift, lend a hand, say a prayer. Be a force for peace. Live in each moment, have some fun, count your blessings.

Lose the judgment, find your truth, trust yourself, act from love. Enjoy the flowers, sing with the birds, follow a rainbow, fly with angels.

Let your light shine, still your thoughts, be your best self, follow your path, enjoy your life, say thank you.

Rest and trust in God and watch for miracles … everywhere.

“I will decide for gentle joy today.”

If we want to know how little we really trust God, we just need to look at the world around us.  If we really believed in Him and trusted Him as we should, that energy would bring a different world into our experience. 

The world we see offers little that we want.  Let’s look around and see how insane it is to believe in a world of disease, danger, divisiveness, and death.  

A world where one child of God can appear to overpower another with his will. And where the other child of God appears to be the victim. Where is the gentleness in this?

A world where bad things happen to good people.  A world where children are at risk and answers are seen in violence. Where is the gentleness now?

A world where war seems like a solution and suffering is everywhere. A world where nature is so out of balance that it threatens the entire planet.  This world needs something new. It needs gentleness; God’s gentleness and our own.

This is not God’s world, this is human’s world.  Even if humans say a thing is God’s will, if there is anything but pure and gentle Love and Joy involved, IT IS NOT GOD’S WILL. 

It’s time to stop denying the truth and turn to God instead. It’s time to ask for help in seeing God’s World through this world. God’s world is here now. We get glimpses, but it seldom lasts. Only for the truly gentle can God’s world be experienced consistently. To hear God is not a matter of fighting the crazy ego thinking; it’s simply a matter of being still and going inward with the gentle trust of open minds and hearts and knowing there is something better. If we look, without judgment or attachment, at the insane thoughts that rule our lives and then quietly let them pass on by while we return to our peaceful core where God lives, it wouldn’t be long before we would realize that being happy is nothing more than a gentle choice.

Then we can see that anger, violence, sadness and pain are simply cries for help. And gentleness is the Truth of us. “To everyone I offer gentleness.” A Course In Miracles

Gentleness is often equated with weakness. But instead it is a powerful force, a gift from God that allows us to see the world anew and to experience a joy filled life and a holy, healed world.

When I look upon the world, I see anything but gentleness. And that’s how I know I am not in my right mind. Looking through the eyes of insanity, insanity is all I see. But I truly want to see differently.

I want to see through the eyes of God and I want to see His Divine Universe. I want to see peace, not chaos and what’s more I know that it is possible. I know because I’ve seen it. Not just once but often. I quiet my vision and smile softly and pray “Thank you, God.” And there it is: another world, another way of thinking and of being. My mind grows quiet and my heart grows still and I know that all is well no matter how it looks.

We, God’s Children are not the insanity, we are the peace and we flow with His Grace on a mighty river of contentment and joy. And this is forever, because it just is. And you and I, we just are. And that is permanent and always. We smile gently with each other and at each other and our eyes are calm and we say thank you to each other. For what belongs to one belongs to all. And isn’t this a lovely place now? Once and forever I remember for us that “We are in danger nowhere  in the world.” and “We need be anxious over nothing.” A Course In Miracles

And that’s the truth.
