Sending Joy

A snowflake lightly kisses the tip of a pine tree needle. And the tree, tall and majestic and ever green smiles in response as it shares its branches and its snowflake with a bird. A bright red cardinal lands on the tree and sips the melted flake and his thirst is quenched. The cardinal flies to the feeder that humans have kept full of his favorite seeds. There he communes with the goldfinches and the chickadees. It’s clear the birds know each other. They show no fear or concern and often sit together on their perches at the feeder for a moment before they take their food and flit off. And well they should be acquainted as they have gathered together around this feeder many times and in all seasons. They are clearly unconcerned about their differences or about sharing their food for they know instinctively that the world belongs to them all. And they know their humans as well. Why else would they fly to the window and flap their wings to remind them that the seed is low? Communication is key.

Communication is not some of God’s Children deciding for us all. It is being still and letting God decide for everyone.

The cat sits safely in the window, protected from its own nature as it is entertained by the birds. Its whiskers twitch, its nose sniffs, its head turns to follow the flitting of the birds. Alert and happy to be a part of a greater world. Let’s sit in God’s window and let Him protect us from our baser nature so we can be open to His Grace. Now are we able to be a part of a Greater World.

Humans, animals and plants, all living together in harmony. It’s the world at its best. Nature at work in the most Divine way possible. Love flows uncomplicated and natural. It’s not even recognized as love. It only IS. No questions. No judgments. Accepted and allowed. And it all works perfectly. Like a holy puzzle where each piece is pre-set and fits together in a way that we are incapable of conceiving. If we want the world to survive we must first stop trying to make it work through the laws of insanity and separation and divisiveness. We must lay down our defenses and trust in the Truth of Who we are.

We humans could take lessons from nature. The world would be a beautiful place if we fed each other the way we feed the birds and our pets and our plants accepting each other as we are. Making room for everyone. For are we not all God’s Creations? Is this not God’s world? Are we not all entitled to miracles and a beautiful life? God would never deny us the happiness we are entitled to. So who are we to deny it to each other?

Let our prayer be for healing and health for all the world. Let us ask for help with kindness and love and trust to generate the health and wellness, safety and peace of mind we want for every man, woman and child on earth. And then let us be grateful and say Thank You, God!
